The Integrated International School (IIS) Singapore has moved to a new City Campus, housed in a three-storey heritage shophouse in the Singapore CBD.
The campus begins operations from the start of the 2024 academic calendar year in January and the location is easily accessible via three MRT lines and major expressways. More than that, the Singapore CBD site is a much bigger space – it can accommodate bigger and better facilities. To find out more about what students and parents can expect, we chatted with Founder and CEO, DR VANESSA VON AUER.
What facilities can students look forward to at IIS Singapore’s City Campus?
The City Campus has a wide range of facilities including a Jungle Snoezelen room, counselling and therapy suites, an indoor hydroponics garden, a dedicated school pet cove, versatile spaces for activities like art jamming, a dance and gym studio, a sports hall, and an auditorium to enrich our extracurricular activity offerings.
What are some of the activities that students can get involved in?
With our larger City Campus in the Singapore CBD, we’re expanding our offerings of afternoon clubs to provide even more options for our students. Our extensive list of clubs includes the Culinary Club, Science Club, Parkour, Fit Club, Entrepreneur Club and more. IIS Singapore students can enjoy their interests until 6pm daily. We also offer After School Camps such as Art Jamming, with more exciting activities to come.
What will kids love about the new outdoor spaces?
One of our outdoor highlights is the Green Space Mezzanine. It’s designed for outdoor activities and provides a safe, sunny area for students to relax and unwind in.
How can parents be involved in the new City Campus community?
Parents can actively participate through our Parent Partnership Program (PPP). This programme lets them volunteer in various classes that match their interests or field of expertise. Some parents have even integrated their professions into the classroom, such as the health professional who came in to teach IIS Singapore students about proper dental hygiene.
How will parents be kept updated of what goes on daily in school?
We keep parents informed through Weekly Parent Teacher Communication Notes. These provide insights into what their children have learned in class and their overall experiences. Additionally, our monthly newsletter will recap past events and activities.
