A child who is well rested, fed and comfortable will make far more difference to your photographs than trying to squeeze the shoot into a particular time. Once the session starts, try not to repeatedly ask children to smile or look at the camera – this often has the opposite effect. Let the photographer do the engaging and directing so moments can unfold naturally, giving you genuine expressions without children feeling they have to perform.”
