Restaurant Review: The Song of India at Scotts Road in Singapore

Mmm... wine

The Song of India
33 Scotts Road
(+65) 6836 0055

Set in a stunning black-and-white heritage bungalow just off Scotts Road, The Song of India offers the very best in Indian food fine dining.

Apart from its beautiful setting, the real treat of our weekday lunch was its reasonable price. In response to its customers’ needs, it says, The Song of India has devised a weekday set lunch menu for only $28, for which you can eat as much as you like, and the chef devises a new menu every two days. Once you’ve chosen your beverage, all you have to do is sit back and enjoy the meal as it comes.

We started with warm cumin soup with a cumin breadstick and salad garnish. Next we had the art platter, which consists of a lamb kebab, chicken tikka masala, stewed lentils, and a spinach and asparagus vegetable dish, accompanied by saffron rice and hot breads.

The finale was a rich chocolate dessert with cumin kulfi and tea or coffee. A gastronomic treat, for a reasonable price.
