Alfresco dining at Orchard: Crossroads Cafe’s new menu!

22nd December 2022 by Expat Living 2 Min Read

It’s easy to work up an appetite navigating the maze of malls and shops on Orchard Road in Singapore. If you’re not sure where to eat in Orchard, why not give Crossroads Cafe a go? Strategically located on the area’s busiest intersection, the popular café is known for its charming alfresco and outdoor dining space, so you can escape the bustling shopping mecca of Orchard to wine, dine and people-watch. The newly launched à la carte menu also serves up a plethora of Western and Asian cuisine, plus sharing plates for you and your friends!

Menu highlights at Crossroads Cafe

Whether you’re looking for a laidback brunch, afternoon catch-up or boozy night out, Crossroads Cafe has launched the ideal menu for bringing friends or family together. For a taste of gourmet Western flavours, the star of the new items is undoubtedly the Crossroads Grilled Chicken. The tender, roasted half chicken is complemented with pearl barley, edamame risotto, parmesan and topped with crispy prosciutto.

Meanwhile, seafood lovers can go for the crowd-favourite pan-seared halibut with caviar sauce; or, for a classic pasta dish, try the garlicky aglio olio spaghetti with delicious tiger prawns and melted parmesan. For an indulgent feast, Crossroads Cafe has created a lobster brioche roll. Cubes of premium Boston lobster sit inside a buttery toasted bun with bacon, avocado and miso mayonnaise for mouth watering flavour in every bite. Yum!

Craving something closer to home? An aromatic bowl of Boston lobster laksa is the epitome of Singaporean dining but with a twist. Think East meets West in a bowl filled to the brim with lobster, quail egg, bean curd, fish cake and noodles, all in a spicy coconut broth. Crossroads Beef Hor Fun is another must try noodle dish – this one features smoky wok hei flavours with sliced beef, mushroom, chye sim and egg.

The new menu at Crossroads Cafe also includes an extensive selection of sharing plates, so it’s great for couples or groups. For some easy comfort food at lunchtime, try the parmesan and manchego truffle fries, or the spicy buffalo chicken wings with hot sauce. Or, for something unique, the lobster croquette with mentaiko dashi mayonnaise, grilled mussels and chicken katsu sliders are sure to hit the spot!

Alternatively, do some Orchard Road people-watching in the evening from the comfort of the charming alfresco and outdoor dining spaces while you accompany a few light bites with a drink or two during Crossroads Cafe’s Happy Hour. You can end the day with a beer, wine or house spirit, or toast to a successful shopping trip with a mojito or lychee martini as you watch the streets light up.

There’s more good news too: it‘s indoor dining space, Crossroads Buffet, will also be launching a dinner buffet offering on 1 January 2023. Sounds like a great start to the new year to us!
