Welcoming Light at the Indian Heritage Centre
1 October - 14 November
Traditionally known as the ‘Festival of Lights’, Deepavali is a celebration of the triumph of good over evil; light over darkness; and knowledge over ignorance. This year, join the the Indian Heritage Centre (IHC) in its Deepavali celebrations. Titled Welcoming Light, it combines an exciting array of on-site and online programmes for the public to immerse themselves in the Deepavali spirit.
From 1 October to 14 November, IHC brings a miniature replica of the Deepavali street light-up into its grounds. Visitors are welcomed to IHC by a decorated arch at the entrance, leading into the institution’s stairwell with more arches topped with peacock designs.
All visitors are encouraged to pose for photos with these light installations and upload them to social media with the hastag #IHCDeepavali to redeem limited edition money packets featuring the arch and peacock designs from the light–up.
