Singapore is an island nation with a long maritime history. A widely used port prior to the arrival of the British East India Company, its coastal and marine areas have undergone transformations. Also, expanding port capacities and nation-building efforts have impacted its development.
This series highlights research on histories in Singapore and the region. Furthermore, it creates an appreciation of the role of humanities and social science research in contemporary society.
