10th July 2019 by Melinda Murphy 3 Min Read

https://expatliving.sg/things-to-do-with-kids-with-in-dempsey/

Are you, like many parents, staring at the holiday weeks ahead with a wee bit of dread? How in the world are you going to fill up all those hours with things for the kids to do? Never fear! Dempsey Hill is here. This spot has it all, from art studios to swimming pools to dance classes and more. Mum is covered, too, with great cafes, shops and galleries to enjoy while the young’uns are off discovering their new loves. Here are just a few of the great things on offer.

#1 Gymnastics

FINALIST, EXPAT LIVING READERS’ CHOICE AWARDS 2019 – KIDS’ HOLIDAY CAMP

Got an aspiring Simone Biles on your hand? Or just a kid who has a lot of energy to burn? Then The Yard Dempsey is for you! This state-of-the-art acrobatic sports centre offers lots of energy-burning, strength-building Gym and Ninja camps over the upcoming break, for kids aged three to 10 years. The Yard Dempsey also offers lots of great eight-week classes if they’re keen to try trampolining, tumbling or more.

#2 Latin Dance

There may be nothing cuter than watching kids having a good time while they kick up their heels and dance their hearts out. At Dancer’s Dream Studio, lessons are balanced between skills and play-based learning. Kids aged two and a half to 13 years simply love getting a taste of dance styles such as Jive and the Samba.

#3 Swimming

GOLD WINNER, EXPAT LIVING READERS’ CHOICE AWARDS 2019 – KIDS’ SPORTS PROGRAMME

Want your kiddos to be super comfortable in a pool? Then the place for lessons is Swish! Swimming. The AustSwim accredited team offers a wide variety of classes for swimmers of all levels, starting with Mums & Bubs then on up to toddlers and children. They even have classes in their awesome temperature-controlled pools for helpers and babies, people with special needs, or adults who’ve never learned to swim.

#4 Multi-activity

Maybe you have the kind of kid who likes to have a bit variety in every day. Then check out Impressions Art Studio’s multi-activity holiday camps. Lucky campers aged from five to 12 years get to try their hand at making art, cooking food, taking nature walks, playing creatively and even acting. Each day is a journey of discovery, so you can imagine stories they’ll tell when you pick them up at the end of the day!

#5 Indoor play

Sick of the heat? Or maybe it’s one of those days when it’s raining so hard you can’t see across the street? Then head to Go-Go Bambini and let your energetic little ones hit the indoor slides, ball pits, tunnels and climbing walls for hours of fun while you sip on a cappuccino at the café. What could be better?
