Which school’s student-teacher ratio has got tongues wagging?

11th October 2018 by Jessamy Smit 3 Min Read

https://expatliving.sg/sir-manasseh-meyer-international-school/

There are so many different criteria you can apply when searching for an international school for your child, and almost every parent’s requirements will vary somewhat. Something that you’ll hear asked at almost every open house, though, is what the student-teacher ratio is – and there’s a state-of-the-art campus in Sembawang that’ll impress the socks off you when it comes to this and more!

With classes capped at six in the play-based Early Childhood Center and 15 in Lower and Middle School, Sir Manasseh Meyer (SMM) International School is winning over parents and students with its ‘small by design’ environment. Beyond one-on-one attention, this low student-teacher ratio means every child has the opportunity to discover their unique talents and be guided gently and purposefully towards their next academic, social and emotional level.

The Early Childhood Center is a ‘home away from home’ for Sir Manasseh Meyer’s youngest students

The perfect balance of challenging and caring, SMM offers an international, integrated curriculum that helps every child reach their full potential through a unique combination of academic excellence, personal interaction and all-rounded educational support. Holistic, warm, nurturing – music to every parent’s ear!

Sir Manasseh Meyer (SMM) is a non-profit international Jewish day school for children aged 18 months to Grade 8 that welcomes students of all nationalities. A fresh new campus was unveiled in April 2016, where you’ll find three fully-equipped science laboratories, two libraries, a full sports complex with an indoor basketball court, outdoor soccer field and outdoor swimming pool, two outdoor playgrounds, an indoor gymnasium, a soundproof music and movement room, an art studio (painting, sculpture and pottery design, anyone?) and an auditorium that seats up to 450!

Add Hebrew and Jewish Studies, after-school clubs and activities (from basketball and soccer, to Mandarin and chess), field trips and excursions within Singapore and Southeast Asia, and an active Community Service drive (known as ‘Tikun Olam’ in Hebrew), and you can see how this international school is raising the bar.

Want to see the campus for yourself? SMM is hosting two Open House dates just around the corner and you’re invited! You’ll hear from Dr Daniel Kahn, Head of School, tour the school and its facilities, and join a Q&A.
