Brotzeit German Bier Bar & Restaurant for German beer and food specials
Looking for a spot to raise a stein? Until 26 October, the Bavarian chain is running an extended Oktoberfest across four outlets – Raffles City, VivoCity, Westgate and the newer Stanley Street in the CBD. So, there’s a venue to match most plans, from after-work drinks to a weekend family brunch.
Brotzeit keeps things classic. Expect Weihenstephaner Festbier on tap, big sharing plates centred on pork knuckle, sausages and giant pretzels, and a rolling music line-up. You’ll also enjoy oompah staples from Alpine Lions and Oompah Band, plus high-energy sets from DJ Maverick.
On the menu is the new Signature Half Pig Head – brined, slow-roasted and served with a crisp white-cabbage salad. It’s big, rustic and very shareable! And don’t miss the Wiesn Platter: crackling pork knuckle, roasted pork belly, golden fried chicken legs and smoky sausages with potato salad and bacon sauerkraut.
Pair all of this with the Weihenstephaner Festbier, flown in just for the season. With over 12,000 litres on tap at Brotzeit, you can nurse a taster or lift a full masskrug.
Weekends are family-friendly with the Oktoberfest Family Brunch (11am to 3pm at VivoCity, Raffles City and Westgate): $49 adults, $20 kids 6-12 years, under-6s dine free. Meanwhile in the CBD, Stanley Street does all-day Wednesday happy hour – with 0.5L Festbier for $12.50. Plus, you get a complimentary schnapps if you turn up in dirndl or lederhosen!

Allora Ristorante and Bar, Crowne Plaza Changi Airport for a Bavarian-themed brunch
Oktoberfest lands at Singapore’s Changi airport this month with a Bavarian-themed brunch at Allora Ristorante & Bar. Held on two Sundays – 19 and 26 October, noon to 3pm – the Oktoberfest food buffet lines up German staples alongside Allora’s Italian signatures. Expect crispy breaded veal schnitzel, homemade spätzle with hazelnut pesto, beef roulade, slow-braised pork rib with apple sauerkraut and the requisite crispy pork knuckle.
Beer also features in the menu, in a Bavarian-style beer-and-bacon cheddar soup, beer-marinated chicken and lamb chops off the grill. Sausages, currywurst and prawns with garlic and chilli round out the hot stations, with carving boards of leberkäse, slow-roasted beef rib and roasted duck breast. Tangy sides keep things fresh – think gurkensalat (cucumber with dill, light sour cream) and wurstsalat (sliced sausage with onion, pickles and vinegar).
Allora doesn’t skip its Italian crowd-pleasers: one-metre pizzas, a cheese-wheel pasta station, Parma ham with gnocco fritto, Italian salumi and cheeses, plus seafood-on-ice (prawns, mud crabs, scallops, mussels, lobster and oysters).
Dessert stays true to the theme with Black Forest and Bee Sting cakes, alongside sachertorte, Linzer tart, plum pudding with vanilla sauce, apple crumble tart, red fruit trifle and a gelato-and-sorbet station.
Oktoberfest at Allora is $98 per adult, $38 per child; kids six and under dine free. Get 30 percent off regular adult pricing for a limited time with code “OKFB30”.

Fact File: Did you know this about Oktoberfest?
The first Oktoberfest festival took place on 12 October 1810. That was when Crown Prince Ludwig, later to become King Ludwig I, was married to Princess Therese of Saxony Hildburghausen. Citizens of Munich were invited to attend festivities in front of the city gates to celebrate the happy royal event. Traditionally, the Oktoberfest celebration begins in the third weekend of September and ends on the first Sunday of October.
