Singapore’s first SkinCeuticals medispa flagship!

SSKINS, founded by renowned dermatologist DR ANGELINE YONG of Angeline Yong Dermatology, is Singapore’s first official SkinCeuticals flagship medispa. That means you’ll find here not only exclusive SkinCeuticals facials but also advanced scalp and body treatments – all dermatologist-designed and approved. We chat with Dr Yong to find out more, plus EL’s Karin shares her experience trying a SkinCeuticals facial.

What inspired you to open SSKINS?

As a dermatologist, my focus has always been on evidence-based medicine and safe, effective treatments for skin health. Over time, I realised that many patients were looking for something that the current beauty market often lacked: a trusted space where medical expertise and holistic wellness truly come together.

That inspired me to create SSKINS. It fills the gap between clinical dermatology and conventional beauty spas, offering results-driven treatments supported by science, but delivered in a nurturing, luxurious environment. Patients today want more than a one-off solution. They are seeking long-term maintenance, prevention and integrative care for their skin, scalp and overall confidence.

With this new medispa on Tanglin Road, my goal is to provide exactly that: a destination where people know they’re receiving professional, medically grounded care while also enjoying a restorative experience that today’s beauty landscape has yet to fully provide.

SSKINS is Singapore’s first official SkinCeuticals flagship medispa. How did this partnership come about?

Our relationship with SkinCeuticals in Singapore has grown organically over the years. At Angeline Yong Dermatology, I’ve worked extensively with the brand’s formulations because they are backed by rigorous science and clinical research – values that align perfectly with my own practice philosophy.

When I began developing SSKINS, I wanted to ensure that the treatments we offered were not only pampering but also results-driven and grounded in proven efficacy. SkinCeuticals was a natural fit. This partnership allows us to combine SkinCeuticals’ expertise in advanced skincare formulations with our dermatological knowledge, incorporating a holistic approach synergistically with advanced technologies including energy-based devices.

SSKINS is guided by what you call the ‘Triple S philosophy: Skin, Scalp, Shape’. Tell us more?

The Triple S philosophy is at the heart of SSKINS. It reflects my belief that true confidence and wellbeing come from looking at beauty and health in a complete, interconnected way.

‘Skin’ represents our foundation in dermatology and advanced aesthetics, where science and clinical expertise ensure safe and effective results. ‘Scalp’ highlights the importance of root-level wellness. Healthy hair and scalp are often overlooked in the beauty industry, yet they’re integral to how we feel about ourselves. ‘Shape’ focuses on balance and refinement, enhancing natural healthy contours in a way that brings harmony.

Together, these three pillars guide how we curate treatments, design experiences and envision the future of SSKINS. It’s not just about offering single services but about creating a holistic journey of care – from head to toe, inside and out.

What makes a dermatologist-designed facial special? What are some highlight SkinCeuticals facials at SSKINS?

A dermatologist-designed treatment is unique to the blend of medical knowledge, safety and results-driven protocols. Every facial at SSKINS is built on an understanding of skin biology and years of clinical experience, ensuring that treatments are not only pampering but also truly effective for long-term skin health.

With SkinCeuticals, we’ve introduced three distinct tiers of facials:

What are some common skin concerns people come to you for?

Beyond facials, clients come to us for a wide range of needs. At SSKINS, we see concerns such as acne and post-acne marks, pigmentation, sensitive skin, early ageing and skin barrier repair. Because we are dermatologist-led, we also integrate care for scalp health – from dandruff to hair thinning – as well as treatments that support overall contouring and skin tightening. The idea is not just to treat problems when they arise, but also to focus on prevention and maintenance.

What’s your personal approach to beauty and wellness?

My approach has evolved over time. Early in my career, I focused primarily on treating medical skin conditions. But I’ve come to realise that beauty and wellness extend beyond correction – they’re also about prevention, maintenance and balance.

Today, I emphasise a more holistic and sustainable approach. Beauty is not just how the skin looks on the surface, but also about strengthening the skin barrier, supporting long-term health and helping patients feel comfortable and confident in their own skin. This philosophy is what shaped SSKINS: a place that marries medical dermatology with relaxing, results-driven treatments, offering clients the best of both clinical science and restorative care.

What’s next for you?

I’m looking forward to taking this 360-degree approach further by integrating nutritional health, as gut health plays an important role in skin health. I’m also passionate about restorative wellness and hope to one day curate a retreat or hotel that creates not just unique personal journeys and memories, but also focuses on holistic healing, wellbeing and skin longevity.

EL’s Karin tried the SkinCeuticals Age Repair & Firming Facial at SSKINS. Here’s her review!

I try to be good with my skincare routine at home. But sometimes my skin just feels flat and needs a proper reset. After a recent trip to Europe, it was feeling dry, rough and a little lifeless. So I decided to give it some proper attention with the Age Repair & Firming Facial at SSKINS, the spanking new SkinCeuticals flagship medispa on Tanglin Road.

The experience

The therapist started with a VISIA skin analysis, which showed every bit of sun damage, dryness and fine lines in high definition. It was quite revealing and fascinating to see, and it helped her understand exactly what my skin needed. From there, the facial steps and products were customised to my skin type and tone.

The treatment began with a lovely Bojin TCM scalp massage combined with an aroma stress-relief ritual using essential oils created in-house by Dr Angeline Yong. I picked Radium Bloom, a geranium and rosemary blend that smelled gorgeous and promised to tackle pigmentation. After that came exfoliation with a SkinCeuticals activator, followed by oxygen scaling and extraction. These were done thoroughly but without the usual discomfort.

To calm my skin, the therapist applied the SkinCeuticals Phyto Corrective serum before moving on to the cryo infusion. This was one of my favourite parts, a cooling tool that massaged hydrating serum deep into the skin and left it feeling soothed and fresh instead of red.

The facial finished with a blissful massage using SkinCeuticals Triple Lipid Restore cream, followed by a hydrating mask, red LED light therapy and a final layer of Vitamin C, moisturiser and SPF.

I left feeling relaxed and happy, with skin that looked smooth and felt soft for days. It was one of those facials that just gets everything right, and I honestly loved it.
