We’ll be updating this on a monthly basis, so make sure you check in regularly.
Curtains Reinvented
Hillarys Singapore has arrived with a fresh, tech-driven twist on window décor. Shoppers can book a free home visit, browse fabrics on the spot, and leave the measuring and installation to the Hillarys team. Because the company owns its factory and favours responsibly sourced materials, it can keep prices down while shrinking its environmental impact. There’s currently an opening special featuring 20 percent off indoor curtains and blinds, while the first 100 balconies fitted with zip blinds will enjoy a 10 percent rebate – a timely welcome for anyone upgrading their space.
Mrs Bennet & Friends
There’s exciting news on the retail front as English home furnishings brand Mrs Bennet prepares to move into her first solo shop on the 5th floor of the iconic Tan Boon Liat Building. And, as if that weren’t thrilling enough, some of Singapore’s other best independent brands, including Hankie Pankie Home and Apollonia, have been invited to join her! So, mark the date in your diaries – Mrs Bennet opens mid-June, and looks set to quickly become Singapore’s latest must-visit shopping destination.
Interactive Hall of Tech
LG Electronics Singapore transformed New Bahru School Hall into an interactive playground at its recent “Affectionate Intelligence” showcase. Visitors started in a nostalgic corner featuring a retro “mama shop” before testing new TVs, appliances and gadgets through live demos and mission cards that unlocked prize draws. The journey ended in a staged smart home where guests imagined daily life with LG’s 2025 lineup.

Coffee Table Styling Secrets
Homeowners in Singapore who are sizing up their living rooms often start with the coffee table, because that single piece anchors the seating zone, hides clutter and even doubles as a dinner spot. We love a good coffee table at Expat Living, so we’ve updated our online roundup of where to buy the best ones on the island. It includes tips from eight specialist merchants from Outram to Bukit Batok who give us their tips – from utilising round edges to soften tight layouts, to buying nesting pairs to maximise a space, and choosing the best material, be it oak, ceramic or travertine.
Furniture On Demand
Also updated on the EL website is our roundup of places offering rental furniture. Renting is a great option for expats and locals who need to furnish a home quickly. Shoppers can browse sofas, beds and even art, online or in-store, and then choose individual pieces or curated sets and sign up for month-long or multi-year agreement. After that, the provider delivers, assembles and later collects everything, handling any maintenance along the way. The service works for new arrivals, families renovating or anyone keen to reduce landfill, because items are reused instead of discarded. Some companies offer flexible packages that let you swap or add pieces at any time, and many lines are built from FSC-certified, sustainably sourced materials.
