New homewares store Ginko Collection is an East Coast sanctuary for anyone shopping for home décor, offering everything from great gifts in the form of candles and glassware, to throws, cushions and plenty more. The collection is the brainchild of friends and business partners Vasilija Zdunic and Rameela Naakka. Drawing on their own retail experience and knowledge of Singapore’s fair industry, their concept store pulls in a range of vendors all under one roof.
Vasilija, originally from Croatia, has lived in Singapore since 2015 and has “absolutely fallen in love with it ever since”. Rameela, Singaporean, moved back after ten years abroad. Both their original businesses – Rameela’s childrenswear line Appletree and Vasilija’s apparel collection Absolutely Fabulous by Vas – are now retailed in the concept store they launched in Autumn 2021.
Ginko Collection was set up as a concept store for homewares in Singapore to suit both Western and Eastern tastes, from homewares to fashion. “We wanted to give ourselves and the great vendor friends we have made during our years in business a place to retail their products and receive exposure,” explains Vasilija. “The shop was a nice way to bring together brands we like and to have them in one place to showcase products.”
Whether you’re hunting for home décor or gorgeous fashion pieces, the Katong Point Mall boutique is the place to head to. “Our aim is to bring everyone much-needed access to quality home décor, particularly given the change to everyone spending much more time at home for the foreseeable future.”
