Expecting guests for Christmas?

Tips for a Stress-free Christmas

Naazli Somjee from WTP shares some advice on getting the home, and you, ready for guests.

#1 Refresh and feel renewed

This is a great time of the year to refresh your space. Simply rearranging your furniture and adding one or two new pieces can make it feel like a totally different room. I love funky and colourful armchairs at the moment, which add a great focal point to any room. You could also consider a new dining table or buffet sideboard to accommodate the extra dishes that you’ll be cooking during the festive period!

#2 Be prepared

Have a clear-out now of all those things you haven’t used since last Christmas, so you are ready for those essential new items. It will help you feel less cluttered and more prepared.

#3 Delegate!

Don’t try and do it all yourself. Give tasks to willing family members and don’t try and take everything on yourself.

#4 Give everyone room

I find just trying to accommodate everyone comfortably can be quite stressful. How about renting a few key pieces, like extra chairs or a bed? WTP offers furniture rental for a minimum of a month, perfect for expected and unexpected guests. And best of all, our rental furniture can be matched to your style, so your guests won’t even know!

#5 Enjoy yourself

Getting together with friends and family is about spending time together and enjoying yourself. Don’t forget this, and if everything doesn’t go exactly to your plan, don’t worry – no one will know!
