Many of these properties have multiple rooms and vast living spaces, ideal for a get-together with friends or family – plus, with a big group they can be more economical than hotel rooms. Besides indulging in treatments from the in-house masseuse or dipping in the private pool, you can head out for a Muay Thai session or a day trip to the Ang Thong Marine National Park.

“The suites are wonderful and well-designed. The staff are friendly and attentive to our needs. I made a quick request to go fishing and within hours I was catching fish on board a yacht! We also had a lovely private beach dinner, the food was amazing.” – Kazuo Urakami, from Japan, stayed in 2016

Lime Samui

Lime Samui living room
Enjoy unblocked ocean views from the living area at Lime Samui

“I recently stayed at Villa Spice (Villa 3) at Lime Samui with a group of friends for five days in January. It’s hard to put into words how amazing the villa atmosphere, staff and accommodation are. The villa is beautiful and pictures don’t do it justice. I was pleased with the cleanliness of the villa and the outdoor pool area, which offers a breathtaking view of the island.

What is even more impressive than the villa itself is the staff. They’re accommodating and friendly, and they went above and beyond to ensure that we were satisfied. They can work around your schedule and help arrange day trips, and, although they’re very attentive, they’re not intrusive. The food is also absolutely delicious. The chef caters his menu to your preference. During my stay, the chef cooked everything from Thai street food to western dishes.”

– Lane, from Hong Kong, stayed in 2017

Villa Tasanee

Villa Tasanee bedroom views
Wake up to lovely sea views at Villa Tasanee

“If there is a heaven on earth, Villa Tasanee would be it! The rooms, private pool, living area, ocean view, service and gym are simply amazing. I spent four days and three nights here with a group of 14 and we didn’t want to leave. The staff were very attentive to our requests (we were really quite demanding!) and handled them professionally and with utmost care.

Also, the kitchen is amazing, with all sorts of equipment for us to use. I would definitely recommend people staying here to go grocery shopping and cook their own dinner. The villa is also great for barbecues – just ask the staff about renting a barbecue set. I really enjoyed my stay, and relaxing in the villa. With the right company, food and ambience, it was perfect. I’ve already booked my next trip back.”

– Glen Liu, from Singapore, stayed in 2016

Lovely views all around at Samujana

Perched on a hill overlooking the Gulf of Thailand on Koh Samui’s northeastern tip is Samujana. This is the perfect getaway for those looking for some peace, tranquillity and privacy. The luxurious property houses 27 stunning private villas, from three to eight bedrooms. All offer spacious living and dining areas, kitchens and private pools, and the design of each one is unique, with different styles and facilities on offer. For example, you can spoil the kids by choosing Villa 9, which comes with a basement games den with an indoor slide, Xbox console, pool table and state-of-the-art cinema. Everyone will love soaking and relaxing in the infinity pool while enjoying the panoramic ocean views.

You can also arrange for private Muay Thai classes, yoga sessions and massages in your own villa. While there is no on-site restaurant, you can enjoy the privacy of in-villa dining or self-catering, or engage a private chef. You could also choose to head out to nearby restaurants.

The villa has three bedrooms, a private pool, Jacuzzi, gym and steam room. You can enjoy in delicious Northern Thai delicacies made from fresh local ingredients hand-picked from the estate’s garden, and the chef can also whip up your international favourites.

Should you ever tire of taking dips in the pool, indulging in some pampering with a relaxing body scrub or exploring the sprawling rice fields, you can even head out to the local village of Suan Doc and have the unique opportunity to teach English to local school children. Sports aficionados will love hiking up Elephant Mountain or to go mountain biking. And little ones aren’t left out – the Pa Sak Tong Kids’ Club offers engaging games, books and toys for children of all ages.

The Second House by Aarya

The Second House by Aarya beach
Enjoy some down-time at the private beach at The Second House by Aarya

Set on the edge of Krabi National Marine Reserve, The Second House by Aarya has the beach right at its doorstep. Each villa has three ensuite bedrooms with its own private pool and direct access to the beautiful Phra Nang beach. With a butler, housekeeper and chef, you’ll be all set for a luxury retreat. Cool down by the private pool, whip up local eats at a Thai cooking class, learn the art of vegetable carving in town or drop by nearby resort Rayavadee for a day at the spa.

If you’re looking for something a little more thrilling, head out for an afternoon of diving, fishing or rock-climbing. Or opt for a day trip to the nearby Phi Phi Islands and Phang Nga Bay.
