Whether you’re the groom, the best man, the father of the bride or a guest, there’s nothing like a good suit to make you look and feel the part at a wedding. Investing in good materials is key to an ensemble that will do you justice time and time again. We asked the tailoring experts at CYC The Custom Shop, established in 1935, to clue us in on key suit trends for weddings.
For a beach wedding, styles in lighter shades and weight suit the mood perfectly. They make you look comfortable, without sacrificing dapper elegance.
White shirt, 100 2-ply 100% cotton shirt
Light grey 100% cotton pants
Light grey is versatile for a summer suit, and great for an outdoor wedding. The colour is a bridge between casualness and a traditionally smart image. A pale pink shirt softens the look and fits in well with the surrounding greenery.

A medium blue suit is ideal for a church wedding, as the colour is classic and formal, yet not as serious-looking as black. The gingham shirt adds a touch of personality, and could be matched to the bridesmaids’ dresses. Blue suits are perfect for daywear and are ideally worn with shoes in a brown hue.

You just can’t go wrong with a sleek, form-fitting tuxedo. With these contrasting lapels, you’ll stand out in a sea of traditional black tuxes – for all the right reasons.
