Over the last few years, the ultra-popular, non-invasive HIFU treatment has been a saving grace for many with skin concerns such as sagging skin, annoying wrinkles and even cellulite. As its technology continues to evolve, so has its effectiveness and capabilities in targeting various skin concerns. Over at Evoque Medical Aesthetics at Dhoby Ghaut, a certain HIFU treatment recently caught our eye. It’s one of the few in Singapore that use the newly launched Ultraformer MPT device, which promises to help with face slimming and even skin whitening! The clinic’s founder and medical director Dr Sanjay Ganhasan tells us all about it.
But first, what’s a HIFU treatment?
HIFU is one of the advanced non-surgical face lifting treatments that have skyrocketed in popularity in the market – with good reason. Short for high-intensity focused ultrasound, HIFU works by delivering focused ultrasound energy to specific depths within the skin. This helps with everything from tightening the skin to diminishing wrinkles and smoothing skin texture – all without needles or downtime.
Dr Sanjay has some advice on choosing the right type of HIFU for yourself. “Do prior research on the machine used and its functions and capabilities,” he advises. “HIFU is also an operator-dependent procedure, hence choosing an operator with experience is important.”
How the HIFU Ultraformer MPT treatment works
The Ultraformer MPT (micro pulsed technology) is the newest edition in the Ultraformer series of premium HIFU treatment devices. According to Dr Sanjay, Evoque’s HIFU treatment with Ultraformer MPT utilises MMFU (micro and macro focused ultrasound) technology to deliver even more focused ultrasound energy at different depths under the skin.
In fact, the lifting and tightening device can rejuvenate three critical levels of the skin’s infrastructure. That’s thanks to customised micro and macro ultrasound energy that can be tailored to the client’s needs. For example, the normal mode works great for lifting and tightening the skin, while the micro-pulsed mode is effective for collagen regeneration and contouring.
It’s great for face slimming and skin brightening
As such, among the things that set the HIFU Ultraformer MPT apart is that the it works especially well for face slimming due to its de-bulking and fat-melting effect. With precision, the ultrasound energy contracts collagen fibres while also stimulating long-term production of new and stronger collagen and elastin. “This helps with lifting, firming, and tightening skin – not to mention facial contouring and debulking.”
Evoque’s HIFU Ultraformer MPT can target a variety of problem areas. They include mid face sagging, jowls, laugh lines, droopy eyebrows or eyelids and even a double chin. It can also be used for body contouring, such as the abdomen, arms and thighs.
Uniquely, HIFU Ultraformer MPT sessions at Evoque also include the Ultra Booster treatment. It uses the Ultra Booster handpiece with a highly nourishing serum from Korean brand Klardie to achieve skin brightening and whitening – something that most other types of HIFU treatments cannot do, Dr Sanjay tells us.
No downtime and little maintenance
You can expect to see some immediate results, which will continue to improve over the following two to three months. There’s no downtime so you can resume your daily activities right after the treatment. The results can typically last for half a year to a year, with a maintenance session every six to 12 months recommended by Dr Sanjay.
Cost of the HIFU treatment
The first session of the full-face HIFU Ultraformer MPT treatment is $888 (GST inclusive). 1000 shots will be performed. Each session also includes the Ultra Booster treatment featuring the Klardie serum for skin brightening and whitening.
