Looking to invest in clothing that works well in this tropical humidity? Why not consider a stylish and sophisticated kaftan from Kenz and Kate, a brand new label from Shopping at Tiffany’s.
No longer just for lounging poolside, the versatile kaftan is a style that you can wear from day to night. We’ve just discovered new label Kenz and Kate, a brand new collection of kaftan designs created by Shopping at Tiffany’s founder Tiffany Maughan in collaboration with her daughter Mackenzie.
“The name of the label is derived from my daughter’s name plus my middle name. She’s very interested in the fashion industry and helps with the buying as well as the modelling, which is great for me,” says Tiffany. “She helps me choose the prints, and assists with the layout of the beading and trims. We work very well as a team. I love having her in the business!”
Crafted in figure-flattering, loose silhouettes that are cool in the heat, each kaftan is lightweight and easy to pack for holiday getaways. They’re made from 100 percent silk, and are produced in India. Once screen printed, it can take an incredible 10 to 12 hours to decorate and embellish each kaftan with intricate beading and sewing techniques.
What’s more, Tiffany has created various styles to flatter different heights, shapes and sizes. Petite ladies should check out the midi-length kaftans, while tall gals will love the long, flowing maxi-length styles. Winners in our books are the universally flattering high-low kaftan dresses and jumpsuits.
Our styling tips? Team your kaftan with a pair of sandals during the day while running errands in the city, and dress it up at night with a wedge heel and a statement cuff. As for the designer herself, Tiffany is addicted. “I wear them all the time; it’s such an easy and glamorous style. I think I’m becoming known as the kaftan queen of Singapore!”
Prices range from $269 for full-length kaftan, $195 for a midi-length one, and $110 to $179 for a top, depending on its style.
Shop the collection in Shopping at Tiffany’s stores at #02-03 Tanglin Mall and #01-17C Great World City.
