“When we first bought our apartment, it obviously came with toilets in the bathroom, but they were just standard – nothing special. We decided to go with the Starke Egg toilet bowl as it looks very sleek and modern.
The Egg is unlike your conventional toilet bowl in Singapore. Shaped in the form of an egg, it’s a curvy interpretation by the designer. Since it doesn’t have the back sink like an ordinary standard toilet, the Egg instead has a large toilet seat, which is perfect for tall or larger people – and very comfortable to sit in.
The Egg is equipped with Starke Siphon Technology, which gives the flushing action quite the power – in fact, it makes it look like a tornado! This power helps to reduce water usage by a third and makes it really efficient in terms of water bills. It’s also surprisingly silent; there’s not much noise when you flush.
The installation was very simple. I have to admit, I was quite apprehensive about drilling on tiles in the bathroom, but the installers were very professional and explained the procedure carefully. It gave me confidence knowing they’ve installed quite a few toilets before.
