Sort out Father’s Day presents at Dempsey Hill

16th June 2021 by Expat Living 3 Min Read

https://expatliving.sg/fathers-day-presents-and-food-at-dempsey-hill/

Gift and grub ideas for the world’s best dads … Whether it’s coach, comedian or cook, fathers wear many different hats in the house. And while they may not always get the homework or even the handiwork right, we’ll still be toasting them this 20 June! Here are some of the great Father’s Day presents, feasts and gift ideas, you’ll find at Dempsey Hill.

Five-Star Feed

Created by “Iron Man Chef” Heman Tan, the specially curated five-course Father’s Day menu at MOONBOW starts with a refreshing Hokkaido scallop ceviche, followed by a flavourful seafood bouillabaisse. Next is a “surf n’ turf” duo – a beef oyster blade steak served with potato mousseline, Yorkshire pudding and port wine reduction, and sea perch thermidor with crustacean lime oil, forest mushrooms and tobiko. End the meal on a sweet note with Heman’s chocolate and peanut butter delight, complete with a chocolate cigar and vanilla gelato. Available for $128 per person, only on 20 June.

Carnivore Corner

Beer and barbecues – what more could he ask for? Head down to Chang Korean BBQ at Loewen by Dempsey Hill for some authentic Korean cuisine. Must-try dishes include the signature bibimbap, kimchi pancakes and baked black cod in caramelised denjang sauce. The star players however, are the premium meat cuts, including wagyu ribeye, marinated prime ribs and kurobuta pork belly. Best of all, Dad can sit back and relax while your server grills the meat for you on a smokeless charcoal barbecue right at your table.

Say it with Tacos

Standing the test of time, Margarita’s has been a favourite since 1988! Toss a sombrero on your pop’s head and come along for some fail-safe classics like sizzling fajitas and kitchen sink burritos. For something a little different, try the panuchos de cazon, stuffed snapper on a crisp tortilla, or the carnitas de puerco, which is made with slow oven-roasted pulled pork on corn tortillas. And don’t forget to keep the margaritas flowing – they’re made with 100 percent blue agave tequila!

The Simple Things

Sometimes a good ol’ pub just hits the spot! Harry’s at Dempsey Hill is the place to let dad unwind and enjoy his special day. Order the fall-off-the-bone baby back ribs infused with tangy barbecue sauce, or go for the all-time favourite Harry’s Jazz Burger that comes with a juicy wagyu beef patty layered with crispy bacon and double cheese. Wash it all down with a crisp and malty Harry’s Premium Lager (you just might need to take him home for a nap afterwards!).
