Voyage Festival: Kampung Spirit
27 August @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
We take a trip in our trains to the heartlands, right where the Kampung Spirit lies amidst the ever-changing urban landscape in Singapore.
This trip is aptly framed in the musical work 2025 by Tan Yuting, set in an MRT traversing the East-West Line. Upon alighting, experience a modern retelling of Chen Zhangyi’s piece Kampung Spirit. Introspective and ruminating, the two musical narratives come together to track the changing urban and social landscape of Singapore, and plot a speculative roadmap for the near and distant future.
