Light Side of the Moon: A Solo Exhibition
22 September @ 10:00 am - 3 October @ 9:00 pm
A pun on the iconic Pink Floyd album Dark Side of the Moon, Charlotte Lane’s new collection flips the original meaning behind the album’s message. Whereas the well-known psychedelic masterpiece narrated the lyricist’s dark thoughts as a result of his environment, Charlotte Lane’s take on it is more positive. Through her use of various painting techniques and the use of gold, silver, and copper leaf, Charlotte Lane invites the viewer to look at the ‘silver’ linings in her paintings.
Charlotte Lane also makes use of various skies and seascapes to create atmospheric works on canvas, playing around with the various hues and brush strokes to create immersive evocative paintings for the viewer. Her works offer an interesting look into the relationship between the weather and the human condition.
