Why is everyone talking about K18 hair oil?

30th June 2023 by Megan Hobson 3 Min Read

In Singapore, everyone is trying to find out how to tame frizzy hair and manage coloured or damaged hair that simply doesn’t like humidity. If you already have an arsenal of shampoos, conditioners, curly hair oil and other products that aren’t working, you might be missing out on the best product to protect your locks. There’s a reason everyone is singing the praises of K18 Molecular Repair Hair Oil – and we’re about to join the party after giving it a try! Before you read our review, however, find out how K18 hair oil actually works and why it has a reputation as the best hair oil for frizzy hair.

What is it?

K18 Molecular Hair Oil owes its success to, and takes its name from, a famed combination called K18PEPTIDE. This molecular mix penetrates into the hair to reverse damage and promote long-term strength and smoothness which is why it’s a great curly hair oil. Ingredients such as sunflower oil, hemisqualane and squalane reinforce the natural moisture barrier to reduce frizz and enhance shine. In addition, the avocado oil, which has an incredibly high smoke point, helps provide protection well beyond the maximum heat from a styling tool.

Why is K18 the best hair oil for frizzy hair?

For long-term frizz prevention, this K18 hair oil can reach deep-level damage found in the innermost layer of the hair fibre. This is often the root cause of frizz. Plus, if you’re desperately searching for how to tame frizzy hair and fix your frizz now, the natural oils also provide immediate nourishing of your hair while smoothing frizz and flyaways. So you should expect your locks to have more colour vibrancy and shine quickly.

How do you apply K18 hair oil on frizzy hair?

This hair oil is designed to be used on both damp and dry hair for maximum impact. The best way to start applying the oil on dry hair or damp, is with just one to three drops and then build up as needed.

On damp hair, apply the oil from mid lengths to ends – this works to strengthen your hair and help reduce frizz during styling or air drying.

Finish your look by using some more K18 on your dry hair – this is to smooth flyaways and add a natural shine to your locks.

Pro Tip: To really strengthen your hair, use a k18 mask first on clean and damp hair, then wait four minutes. Apply the K18 hair oil, and wait another four minutes.

After one week – our review

Singapore’s hot and humid environment brings out the maximum level of frizz in my fine, curly hair. So hunting down a way to tame frizzy hair and a good anti-frizz product has become a regular endeavour. I’m always on the lookout for new and promising products.

K18 has a great reputation in the hair industry as one of the best hair oils for frizzy hair, so I was happy to give the molecular repair k18 hair oil a go. As it’s a highly concentrated formula, the recommended amount is one to three drops on towel-dried hair. If you have long hair like mine, you’ll need to double that.

I always let my hair dry naturally in the evening, and the next day my hair frizziness was visibly reduced – especially on the top, which is my main concern. My hair also looked shinier and healthier without being oily. Needless to say, the ends require more care, so I used a couple of extra drops in the morning.

I’ve been using K18 for a week now and there is an obvious positive change after each wash. I see less frizziness and my difficult ends are starting to look healthier too with application of this curly hair oil. Overall, I’m very happy with this new K18 product. I can see why it has earned a reputation as one of the best hair oils for frizzy hair.
