“We decided to expand to a new location as our Millenia Walk outlet has become overcrowded. After receiving many mall invitations, we decided on Wheelock Place. We think the space and location is perfect for our clients,” reveals Sham Adam, who founded Be Salon in 2017.
And it’s a beautiful salon, featuring chic modern interior design in “minimalist brutalist style” and furnishings in soothing earthy tones. Floor to ceiling windows look out to lush greenery and invite in maximum natural light. There are fully customisable arched lit mirrors and stations to suit individual clients. Be salon is equipped with made-in-Japan machines for “digital perm, nano mist hair treatment, and rollerball heating machine. It is also an exclusive Dyson salon meaning that it only uses top-of-the-line Dyson hairdryers. Yes, please.
Bespoke and personal hairstyles
Highly personalised service is another aspect where Be Salon stands out. “Individuals come from all walks of life and have very different lifestyles. Lifestyles affect how a person’s hair looks on a daily basis,” says Sham. That’s why his team focuses on not just trendy styles but designing bespoke hairstyles to suit the individual. They hope to help clients achieve manageable hair that holds up long after they leave the salon.
They also provide thorough and complimentary hair consultations before any hair service. Director stylist Chester Soh believes communication is key. Be Salon stylists seek to understand clients’ lifestyles and discuss personalised solutions to hair concerns. “Our stringent recruitment ensures that all our stylists are highly-skilled in all hairdressing techniques to provide the necessary care to our clients. There is strictly no hard selling at our salon. We are a team of people who genuinely care for the wellbeing of our clients. Many of them have become close friends throughout the years.”
Experienced in various Caucasian and Asian hair types
Having served many foreigners from hotels located around Be Salon’s Millenia Walk hair salon – including the Ritz-Carlton Millenia Singapore, Pan Pacific Singapore, Mandarin Oriental Singapore, Marina Bay Sands and more – the team understands the level of quality and service their expat clients expect. “Our team has the knowledge and experience of how to handle different hair types other than Asian hair, from Caucasian blonde hair to brunette hair and beyond. Our hair products from Japan, Korea and USA and made-in-Japan machines that we use are also of premium standards.”
The team consists strictly of directors, associate directors and leading stylists (no junior or senior stylists, Sham tells us) with 10 to 24 years of experience, so one always feels they’re in safe hands. Spanning Korean, Taiwanese, Chinese, Malaysian, Singaporean and more, the diversified hairstylists each boast unique individual strengths and skills.
Tame frizzy hair with the Waterfall Treatment
Newly launched alongside the opening of the Wheelock Place hair salon, clients can now experience the salon’s new Waterfall Treatment. It is perfect for newcomers to Singapore, whether you have Caucasian blonde hair or dark Asian hair. “Seeing many of our expat clients face frizzy hair issues as soon as they arrive in Singapore, we decided to create a hair treatment to help fight the frizz and keep their hair smooth for their long-term stay in our tropical climate,” says director stylist Queenie Tsai.
Containing ingredients with anti-frizz and antioxidant properties such as cocoa butter, coconut nucifera oil and amino acids, this fibre protein treatment helps to nourish extremely dry and frizzy hair and return the hair to a shiny, healthy state. The provitamin B5 ingredient is also a great humectant to help retain moisture and prevent water loss. Your blonde, brunette or Asian hair cuticles are then realigned with the hair iron machine to achieve beautiful hair that cascades gracefully.
