The best florists and flower arrangements!

18th August 2020 by Lindsay Yap 4 Min Read

https://expatliving.sg/where-to-order-flowers-in-singapore-delivery-from-some-of-the-best-florists/

Not all of us have the time (or talent!) to put together flower arrangements – that’s where knowing the best florists in Singapore are comes in handy. Offering a wide variety of fresh flowers, bouquets and special arrangements, here’s a list of where to order flowers in Singapore, with home delivery. Whether you’re looking for a gift, or something to brighten up your own home, some flowers will do the trick!

Urban Meadow Flowers

Simon and Marc wanted to fill the gap in affordable European-inspired flower arrangements in Singapore so in 2017 they set up Urban Meadow Flowers. These online florists believe that flowers should be a part of everyone’s life – not just for the big occasions. Each weekday morning, they personally select fresh and seasonal flowers to create a unique design for the day. They also only buy what they need; it means there’s no wastage and they can keep their prices low.

The order process is straightforward: choose from three sizes (small, medium and large) of the flower arrangement of the day. The blooms come wrapped with a message card and are placed in pretty paper bags with ribbon handles. You can also choose to add on a personalised card, photo or even a vase. Arrangements start from $38 and include free delivery. The store also offers a special package called “Month of Flowers” – four medium or large arrangements (from $258). It’s the perfect gift for occasions such as birthdays plus you’ll save up to 10%! Keep an eye out for their subscription service too which will be launching soon.

Ferns N Petals

If you’re looking for variety, Ferns N Petals is the place to go! It offers beautiful flower arrangements for all sorts of occasions, from birthdays, anniversaries to get-well wishes and thank-you gifts. Choose from a wide range of fresh, preserved and dried flowers, including lilies, roses, sunflowers and tulips. These florists in Singapore source their flowers from all over the world, including Holland, Kenya, China and Malaysia. Find the best flower arrangements options for you – bouquets, baskets, vases, or boxes. If you’re in a rush or let a special occasion slip your mind, the company even offers same-day and one-hour flower delivery for orders made before 5pm and 6pm respectively.

Customers have the option to pair their blooms with a little extra something by opting for one of their popular gift combos. There’s a good variety of items to choose from. These include greeting cards, cakes, chocolates, wines, teddy bears and even personalised gifts like photo frames and mugs. You’ll definitely impress your special someone!

Each order is approached with a fresh eye, making it exclusive and unique. Flower Empire’s stylish flower boxes are especially popular amongst customers. The boxes don’t require any maintenance – they come with a special floral foam with water and food to keep the blooms healthy and pretty. To kick it up a notch, opt for the surprise box with a designer flower box – open the box and balloons will fly out! The store is also planning to launch a collection of gift sets with flowers and champagne. You’ll be glad to hear that there’s free daily doorstep delivery for all orders (no minimum order). You can also get same-day delivery for selected bouquets if you order before 1pm.

Don’t we all love a home makeover!

If you are looking for some easy, low-commitment ways to spruce up your home for the new year we have six tips on how to do a home makeover from Caroline Chin Geyler (link on our stories) she’s the founder and principal stylist of award-winning interior styling firm Arete Culture.

The company is a four-time Gold Winner in our Expat Living Readers’ Choice Awards (2017-2020) in the interior design and home styling category so they certainly know their stuff.

As well as some fab tips she’s offering a special Chinese New Year makeover offer, too. At last our homes can look as stunning as these do @areteculture

Guys: did you know that your skin is structurally different from that of ladies? For most men, androgen (testosterone) stimulation results in skin that’s thicker and tougher than women’s skin. This also means you might need something more than just your wife’s, mum’s or sister’s moisturiser or face wash!

Lumin was founded on this concept; this California-based online store offers simple yet effective skincare for men, tailored to different skin types and concerns. So, whether you’re looking for a good face cleanser or a moisturiser for men, this is one brand to check out.

To differentiate Lumin from other men’s skincare brands, founders Richard Hong and Darwish Gani flew to South Korea to work on formulas that benefit the thicker and more stubborn skin constructs of men. Most of the ingredients used are powerful plant-based extracts like ginger root, rosemary, coffee and shea butter. The paraben-free and cruelty-free brand also makes a point of avoiding unnecessary nasties commonly associated with popular off-the-shelf products.

If it’s your first time shopping for men’s skincare, you’ll be glad to know that the Lumin experience is simple and fuss-free. Just fill out a brief questionnaire and you’ll get a personalised skincare regime that’s suited to your skin type and lifestyle. You can choose to go with a one-time purchase or have your products delivered on a subscription basis. Alternatively, shop from the curated range of skincare sets catered to different budgets and preferences.

The rain and cold winds getting you down? A warm beverage and maybe a good book to snuggle up to might just chase the blues away!

If hot chocolate is too mainstream for you, could we offer up this red velvet alternative? @littlefarms have a wide selection of oat milks, almond milks and soy milk options.

Since it's #Veganuary, we recommend using dairy free milks to recreate this recipe....

2 cups non-dairy milk of choice
4 medjool dates (pitted)
1 tablespoon cacao powder
1/2 teaspoon beet powder

Add the milk and dates into a saucepan.
Heat, over medium, until it reaches a simmer. Add the warm milk with the dates and the remaining ingredients into a high speed blender.
Blend until completely smooth and creamy. Serve and enjoy!
