What to do with kids in Singapore
#1 Monstrous Fun at The Arts House at The Old Parliament (29 to 31 May)
One of the most anticipated activities for kids this Children’s Season, Monstrous Fun at The Arts House at the Old Parliament returns from 29 to 31 May, turning the historic venue into a literary wonderland filled with stories, performances and hands-on workshops.
The kiddos will love Journey West: Web of Deceit, a lively and humorous performance by Paper Monkey Theatre, as well as Magical Sweet Monsters: From Yuck To Yum!, which is a guided illustration workshop inspired by the Magical Sweet Gula comics series. Don’t forget to dress the little ones up in monstrously marvellous outfits for the return of the grand Monster Parade!
#2 Flipside at Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay (29 May to 7 June)
This fun festival serves up both free and ticketed shows with its signature mix of circus, comedy, puppetry and physical theatre featuring Singapore, regional and international artists.
Don’t miss A Simple Space by Australia’s Gravity & Other Myths (29 to 31 May), where award-winning acrobats throw themselves into handstands, flips and climbs that will leave your jaw on the floor. Families can also catch interactive musical theatre experience Snakes and Ladders! (29 to 31 May), an Esplanade commission by Singapore artist Dwayne Lau.
#3 Play On! at Asian Civilisations Museum (30 to 31 May)
It’s play time at Asian Civilisations Museum for Children’s Season 2026, with this year’s event themed Play On! promising a weekend of hands-on games, lively performances and drop-in crafts where everyday materials are reused, remade and transformed into something surprising.
Get your tickets for highlights such as Too Tied Up: Babies in the Galleries with Brocolily – a look at the fascinating world of phytoplankton. There are also tons of free activities for kids including the carnival-style Funfair of Forgotten Futures by Ayer Ayer, and the Pop-up Adventure Playground by Chapter Zero for some fun and games (even water games!) out on the ACM Green.
#4 The Singapore Symphony Orchestra Open House at Victoria Concert Hall (31 May)
Looking for what to do in Singapore with music-loving kids? Head to Victoria Concert Hall on 31 May for the annual SSO Open House. This full-day event gives you a rare chance to step behind the famous orchestra through performances, interactive workshops and backstage tours.
Free events run throughout the day, or you can go for one of the fantastic ticketed concerts, including the 45-minute Singapore National Youth Orchestra in Concert: Mother Goose featuring the Academic Festival Overture by Brahms and fairy tales from Ravel’s Mother Goose collection.
#5 Activities for kids at National Gallery Singapore (ongoing)
Children’s Season 2026 continues at National Gallery Singapore with even more family-friendly activities for kids. On the agenda? When Art Meets Nature, a children’s art exhibition co-curated by the Taoyuan Museum of Fine Arts and National Gallery Singapore that invites families through nature-inspired installations to encourage creativity, imagination and environmental awareness.
Alongside the exhibition, there’s also a well curated programme for all ages, including the Let Loose! Play Workshop led by Ruby Topas of The Playmakers, where children and families discover how simple elements of art can open doors to many possibilities, and Messy Morning for the Little Ones, using open-ended sensory, messy play to encourage curiosity and confidence in art.
