How to get rid of cellulite – the nice way!

7th February 2019 by Susannah Jaffer 2 Min Read

https://expatliving.sg/top-cellulite-treatments-singapore-non-invasive-options-cutis/

If there’s one thing about being a woman I dislike more than period pain, it’s cellulite. Although I’m comforted by stats that say 85 percent of my fellow females also have dimpled areas, that doesn’t make looking at mine a nicer experience. To add insult to injury, it’s not even a problem the men in our lives have to experience. This is because a) their skin is thicker and b) their collagen fibres are arranged horizontally rather than ours which are positioned vertically. Go figure.

The fact is feeling self-conscious about our lumps and bumps can be a confidence-knocker. This is even more true in Singapore where you need to wear less clothing to avoid melting in the heat, or you may need to get into swimwear at a moment’s notice (read: kids’ pool parties or a spontaneous Tanjong Beach Club session).

Sadly, there’s not much that creams and moisturisers can do to get rid of cellulite, and even if you’re doing everything else right — eating clean, drinking less alcohol and doing regular exercise — it still may not budge. That, my friend, is when you need to call in the experts. More specifically, book yourself in for a targeted cellulite treatment to treat your skin from deep within. Thankfully, if you find surgery or needles scary, there are a number of non-invasive cellulite and fat-reduction options in Singapore that will smooth out your lumpy areas.

Top cellulite treatments to know

One of the most effective ways to treat orange peel skin is the BTL Exilis Ultra with Acoustic Shockwave therapy. Combined together, the result is much smoother skin without downtime or surgery. What’s more, they not only fight cellulite but also tighten up and improve the elasticity of your skin.

How they work

First up, the BTL X-Wave machine delivers high-energy vibrations down into soft tissues below the skin to loosen and break down fatty deposits, which is what causes cellulite’s unsightly lumpy appearance. Once these tissues have been broken down, they’re removed from the body via your lymphatic system as toxins and fluids. This technology also helps with collagen regeneration. New collagen is formed when the vibrations break the fat down, resulting in a stronger barrier that reduces your risk of developing cellulite. You’ll see the best results with four sessions.

BTL Exilis Ultra uses ultrasound and radio frequency therapy to tighten skin and reduce cellulite. Using a probe that is applied to your problem areas, it uses a heating and cooling technique that treats the body at various depths. The energy safely penetrates into even the most stubborn of fatty areas under your skin to safely break them down. Your therapist will control the temperature to make sure you’re comfortable at all points throughout the treatment.
