Designed to be incredibly comfortable – it feels much like a gentle lymphatic massage – the treatment is performed by a therapist who works the device (with a heated tip) across targeted areas such as the abdomen, thighs, arms, love handles and double chin. Each takes around eight to 16 minutes, and up to six zones can be worked on in one session.

According to Dr Li Lin Sy from Fundamental Aesthetic Medical Clinic, a big part of weight management comes down to regulating hunger. This is where semaglutide injections can be used. Available at this Orchard clinic, the prescription once-weekly injectable is designed to mimic a natural hormone, GLP-1, that keeps you feeling fuller for longer with the aim of controlling your appetite.
“Semaglutide is an injectable medication for chronic weight management in adults with obesity or weight-related health conditions,” explains Dr Sy. “It targets the appetite-regulating areas in your brain. It increases satiety, reduces cravings and slows down how quickly your stomach empties. This means you would eat less without feeling deprived.”
According to Dr Sy, clinical trials have shown patients losing an average of 15 percent of their body weight. It may also help with lowering blood pressure, improving cholesterol levels and reducing your risk of heart disease and diabetes.
This treatment may be suited to those with a BMI of 30 or above as well as those with a BMI of 27 who have weight-related conditions like high blood pressure or type 2 diabetes. Dr Sy usually starts patients on a low dose. She then gradually increases it over 16 to 20 weeks to give the body time to adjust and help reduce side effects like nausea or bloating.
