Looking for summer holiday camps for teenagers or younger kids? More than just finding things to do during a holiday, children undergo Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) when they join the various camps in Singapore run by The Mindful Camp (TMC). Read on for how they can strengthen life skills and forge friendships through shared experiences.
First SEL camps in Singapore by The Mindful Camp
The team at The Mindful Camp believes that camps are a powerful opportunity for children to learn life skills that stay with them after the camp has ended.
More than just play and activities, camp programmes by TMC are built around social-emotional learning (SEL). This means that through participation in camp activities with peers, children are also building meaningful connections with fellow campers.
Just as importantly, TMC prides itself on being a team of caring and fun educators who create a safe space where children can develop these life skills.
Programmes for 4 to 14 years by The Mindful Camp
With the summer break fast approaching, here’s a brief overview of the camps in Singapore available from The Mindful Camp. There are a few holiday camps for teenagers that strengthen SEL while building resilience. Camps take place either at Swiss Club or Dulwich College (Singapore).
River Camp, 4 to 6 years
There are four themes on weekly rotation:
- In Occupation, campers strengthen their understanding of completing tasks and teamwork as they explore different occupations through interactive games.
- In Amazing Forest, campers hone their agility and strength through obstacle courses and a nature journal about their rainforest adventure.
- In the Dr Suess camp, campers explore imaginative play, storytelling, character invention, rhyme and silly movement to music.
- In Team Lab, campers celebrate setbacks as stepping stones through experiments, prediction and testing ideas in a Science camp.
Mountain Camp, 7 to 9 years; Falcon Camp, 10 to 14 years (holiday camp for teenagers)
There are two themes on weekly rotation:
- In Life Skills, campers master practical skills such as Morse code flashes, and building and launching with a mini-catapult. They also flex their creativity by hosting a podcast or recording a story.
- In Connection, campers build confidence and connections with new friends through shared adventures such as botanical printmaking, learning sign language and creating a storybook or comic with AI tools.
The Ascent, 8 to 14 years
The Mindful Camp designed this as a sleepover camp aimed to build resilience in campers. Campers are guided to take care of their physical health, become more aware of their thoughts and feelings, strengthen optimism during setbacks, and connect with peers by resolving conflict and working as a team.
Girls Camp, 8 to 14 years old
As they step out of their comfort zones in team sports, cooking adventures and outdoor fun, the girls strengthen their sisterhood while developing self-empowerment and confidence.
Swim Camp, 8 and above – only at Dulwich College (Singapore)
Led by an experienced swim coach, this is a development and competitive-level camp for avid swimmers. They will sharpen and maintain their performance over the holiday break.
English Camp for non-native speakers, 7 and above – only at Dulwich College
Campers will build fluency and confidence in this dynamic camp where they practice English naturally in everyday settings. Mornings will focus on language learning. Afternoons bring the language to life through activities, field trips and social interaction.
Chinese Immersion Camp with HaoXue – only at Dulwich College
In partnership with HaoXue, this camp uses structured learning and meaningful cultural exposure to help keen learners build confidence in speaking and understanding.
