19th December 2019 by Lindsay Yap 2 Min Read

https://expatliving.sg/singapore-open-discover-golf-carnival/

Big and little golfers alike will enjoy a fun day out at the upcoming Discover Golf Carnival on 12 January. A prelude to the SMBC Singapore Open 2020, the carnival will be held at the Lower Driving Range at Sentosa Golf Club from 2pm to 6pm. It’s a family-friendly fiesta, featuring a series of great activities and games – here’s what to expect!

Discover Golf Carnival

Enjoy golf-themed activities with the family at this fun event. Introduce the kids to the game of golf through fun and interactive games including foot golf, croquet and tic tac toe. Mums and Dads, you’re not left out; you can try out your putting accuracy at the putting maze! Built entirely from recyclable materials, the environmentally-friendly maze aligns with the event’s sustainable initiatives.

What’s More

Once you’ve had your fill of golfing fun, head to the F&B stations – the kids can enjoy free food and drinks, including popcorn and popsicles! Register for the carnival now!

The Tournament

The SMBC Singapore Open 2020 will be held at the Serapong Course at the Sentosa Golf Club from 16 to 19 January. Catch England’s Justin Rose, Sweden’s Henrik Stenson and America’s Matt Kuchar – gold, silver and bronze medallists at the Rio 2016 Olympics – and other golfers from the Asian and Japan Golf Tours in action.

During the tournament, spectators can head to The Village @ 18TH located behind the 18th green of the Serapong Course. There will be loads of interactive golf-themed activities for all ages, along with SMBC Singapore Open official merchandise to buy.

SMBC Singapore Open Discover Golf Carnival Chip In For Arc

Popular chipping tournament Chip In For Arc returns in 2020 at the Practice Green at The Range @ New Tanjong. Donate $5 and you’ll have the chance to land three balls near three different holes. The ten participants who achieve the lowest combined distance from those shots will compete in the Chip Finale on 19 January and win prizes.

The competition will be happening during Singapore Open tournament (10am to 12pm and 1pm to 4pm), with proceeds going to the event’s charity, the Arc Children’s Centre. During the debut of Chip In For Arc, in 2017, more than $12,000 was raised.
