Big and little golfers alike will enjoy a fun day out at the upcoming Discover Golf Carnival on 13 January. A prelude to the SMBC Singapore Open 2019, it’ll be held at The Range @ New Tanjong at Sentosa Golf Club from 2pm to 6pm. It’s a family-friendly fiesta, featuring a series of great activities and games – here’s what to expect!
Have a blast taking part in golf-themed activities with your little ones (12 and under) at this special zone catered for children. Introduce them to the game of golf through fun and interactive games including croquet, tic tac putt, foot golf and more. The popular Kiddy’s Golf Safari will also be back to put smiles on faces this year.
SGA Long Drive Challenge
Organised by the Singapore Golf Association (SGA), this inaugural national long drive competition is open to all amateur golfers. Held at the venue’s lower tier driving range, this exciting challenge gives participants three tries to hit the ball the furthest distance. You might just be crowned Singapore’s longest hitter! Besides the great prizes up for grabs, the $10 proceeds from each entry go to the SGA Junior Development Fund – a great way to give back to the golfing community. Register for a spot on the SMBC Singapore Open website.
Experienced golfers won’t be left out! Impress the crowd at the Skills Challenge stations, where golfers of all ages can test their accuracy by trying to ace the bullseye targets and draining a few long putts at the putting challenges. Plus, there are more great prizes to be won! Sign up now.
Chip In For Arc
This popular chipping tournament returns for another instalment in 2019. Donate $5 and you’ll have the chance to land three balls near three different holes. Participants who register the lowest combined distance from those holes will compete at the Chip Finale on 20 January. The competition continues during the Singapore Open tournament days (17 to 20 January), with proceeds going to Arc Children’s Centre. When the competition and charity drive debuted in 2017, over $12,000 was raised.
Once you’ve had plenty of golfing fun, fuel up at the F&B stations – little ones will be treated to free popcorn and popsicles too! There’ll also be exclusive SMBC Singapore Open merchandise on sale.
Register for the carnival now!
