Whether you’re a golfer or just a fan of watching great sport, you won’t want to miss the SMBC Singapore Open. It returns to the Serapong Course at the Sentosa Golf Club from 17 to 20 January 2019, with international stars and exciting golf-themed activities in the lineup. Here are just some of the highlights.
There will be plenty of star power on the course, including leading players from the Asian Tour and Japan Golf Tour. Defending champion Sergio Garcia will be competing in the tournament for the third successive year, following his joint 11th place finish in 2017 and his victory in 2018. The Spanish player has a career high world ranking of second, and has made the Europe Ryder Cup team nine times. Prior to winning by five strokes at Sentosa in January 2018, he took out the US Masters in 2017.
American golfer Davis Love III will also make a highly anticipated first-time appearance. Love was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2017 and has claimed 21 titles on the PGA Tour, most recently, the Wyndham Championship in 2015. Japanese golf prodigy Ryo Ishikawa will also be in town for his second Singapore Open tournament.
