There’s a thriving community supporting touch rugby and rugby for kids in Singapore – boys and girls alike. The clubs welcome newcomers throughout the year for weekly training, regular inter-club tournaments and international trips. Kids learn teamwork, make new friends and have fun when playing a sport like rugby. From Tanglin Rugby Club to an All Blacks Clinic with Singapore Rugby Union (SRU), here are a few great options to check out in Singapore!
Rugby clubs in Singapore for all ages
Tanglin Rugby Club
As one of Singapore’s largest junior rugby clubs – with nearly 700 players across the age groups – Tanglin Rugby Club (TRC) welcomes boys and girls aged four to 17, from total beginners to rising stars.
From Mixed Touch Rugby for the little ones to Mixed Contact, Girls’ Rugby and Girls’ Touch Rugby (up to 19 years old), TRC provides a clear pathway for skill development in a fun, supportive and inclusive environment. It’s not just about scoring tries; it’s about learning how to work together, support each other and grow as a team.
With coaching led by parent volunteers and pro coaches for the older age groups, TRC ensures that every child grows at their own pace, picking up techniques, building confidence and creating friendships beyond the pitch. In fact, several TRC alumni have gone on to represent their countries, including Singapore, England and France!
Training happens every Sunday morning at Tanglin Trust School and the Australian International School, with a move in 2026 to a centrally located brand new grass pitch near Kampong Java, making it easy for busy families to get involved. And they do – with a thriving volunteer-led rugby community.
But it’s more than just training – three annual junior rugby tournaments bring together over 1,500 players and more than 2,500 spectators from across Asia. These signature events – TRC Junior Cup (U6 to U10), TRC Senior Cup (U11 to U17), and the Girls’ Contact and Touch Tournament – are highlights of the junior rugby calendar, giving players the chance to shine on a bigger stage.

Singapore Rugby Union (SRU)
The Singapore Rugby Union is the national governing body for rugby in Singapore, focused on growing the game at every level. It oversees national teams, domestic competitions and grassroots programmes, working closely with partners and rugby clubs in Singapore to support a clear and progressive pathway for players.
If you’re looking at kids’ rugby in Singapore, the Singapore Rugby Union (SRU) sits behind much of what’s on offer. As the national governing body, it works with schools and junior clubs across the island to support how young players are introduced to the game and how they progress over time.
Rather than running a single rugby club in Singapore, SRU oversees a network of community and school-based programmes, helping to shape everything from beginner-level sessions to more structured leagues and competitions. For younger players, that often starts with non-contact formats like tag rugby, before moving into contact play as skills and confidence build.
There’s also a strong focus on consistency and safety, with coaching frameworks and guidelines in place across affiliated clubs. This means that wherever children are playing, there’s a shared approach to how the game is taught and developed.
Don’t miss: All Blacks Clinic with SRU
For children who are serious about rugby, this is one to have on your radar. The All Blacks Clinic returns to Singapore this June, offering a rare chance to train with players who’ve competed at the highest level of the game.
Led by former All Blacks and World Cup winners Nehe Milner-Skudder and Victor Vito, the five-day programme goes beyond standard drills. Alongside technical and tactical training, there’s a strong focus on strength and conditioning, as well as sessions on mindset, leadership and recovery. Players are also introduced to the values and culture behind New Zealand rugby – a key part of what sets the All Blacks apart.
The clinic is designed to challenge players across different levels, with structured coaching, small-group attention and a well-rounded approach that looks beyond just skills with the ball. It’s a focused, high-energy week and a chance to learn directly from some of the sport’s most respected names.
