Injectables – no facelift required!

10th September 2020 by Anthia Chng 2 Min Read

Anti-ageing treatment options include a wide range of youth-enhancing injectables. There’s no need to go under the knife for a facelift, these injectables can add volume to certain areas or reduce wrinkles. We asked the team from Cutis Medical Laser Clinics to run through some of their top picks.

Botox & Fillers

Also known as botulinum toxin, Botox is an anti-wrinkle treatment that helps to improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles. It uses a neurotoxin that temporarily blocks the signal from a nerve to a muscle to relax the wrinkles. It can also be used for jaw slimming and to treat excessive sweating.

Dermal fillers are gel-like substances used for filling in lost volume and restoring skin elasticity. They’re commonly made of hyaluronic acid or HA (Juvederm), which is a naturally occurring substance in the body. Fillers can contour the face, smooth out lines, reduce dark circles and eye bags, and plump up the lips.

When used together, these injectables can give your face a refreshed appearance. They’re administered through needle injections, but are usually well tolerated by patients.

Liquid Lift

If you’re looking to get tighter and younger-looking skin without a surgical facelift, a liquid lift with injectables is a good option. Injectables can be done on their own, but they can also be combined through a technique called liquid lift. This involves the use of anti-ageing injectables like fillers (the Juvederm Vycross range), along with Botox for optimal face lifting and tightening results. This technique is used to smoothen the appearance of lines and enhance natural features, while restoring volume and fullness to your face.

Profhilo

Profhilo is another injectable treatment that can do wonders for your skin. It’s referred to as a bio-remodelling injectable that’s used for treating skin laxity and boosting hydration, and it works by injecting pure hyaluronic acid into the skin, using only five injection points on each side of the face.

The unique thing about Profhilo is that it remodels the skin by bio-stimulating four types of collagen, elastin and adipocytes (fat) stem cells. It slowly releases hyaluronic acid into the skin to treat laxity and address other signs of ageing. The result is luminous skin with a youthful appearance.

Apart from the face, Profhilo can also be used on the neck, hands, chest and knees. You can combine it with Botox and dermal fillers as a part of liquid facelift, or to treat different signs of ageing. For example, a doctor may choose to use Botox to treat wrinkles, dermal fillers to address volume loss and enhance facial contours, and Profhilo to boost skin hydration and improve the skin’s overall quality.
