It’s available to help you and your family stay healthy and well, both physically and mentally.
Life Management Assistance Programme
Cigna Healthcare’s Life Management Assistance programme is a free, confidential counselling service. It’s there to help you with any work, life, personal or family issue you may be struggling with. It’s available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, meaning you can reach out for assistance anytime you need. Services and tools include:
#1 Short-term counselling
Whether you want help managing anxiety and depression, need couples’ or family relationship support, or are going through bereavement, there’s someone there to help. This includes up to six counselling sessions via telephone, video, or face-to-face.
#2 Behavioural health services
These include up to six sessions with a mindfulness coach via telephone. This is great for when you’re experiencing stress, and challenges with focus and concentration. Or if online self-help is more your style, a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) programme is available to address mild to moderate anxiety, stress, and depression.
#3 Career and workplace support
You can receive support over the phone with qualified life coaches. They can help you with personal growth and career development at work. There are also counsellors for managers available to help you develop people management skills.
#4 Practical needs support
Phone support is on hand for day-to-day life demands like relocation logistics, child or eldercare, legal or financial services.
Telephonic Wellness Coaching
Lifestyle medicine is a rapidly expanding field achieving great health results. Cigna Healthcare is at the forefront of the movement. It will match you with your own personal qualified wellness coach, trained in health behaviour change. Your coach will act as your partner to identify a wellness goal and work with you to create a plan for success.
Whether you want to work on weight management, healthy eating, physical activity, sleep, stress management or stopping smoking, your coach will help you reach your goal. Over the phone in six confidential sessions you will build your strategy and be motivated by your coach to achieve lasting lifestyle changes.
Routine adult physical examinations
Being proactive, rather than reactive when it comes to your health is a good mantra to life by. Cigna Healthcare says it agrees! It will pay for routine adult physical examinations like height, weight, bloods, urinalysis, blood pressure, and lung function for anyone aged 18 years and above. Health screenings for cervical, prostate, breast, bowel, skin and lung cancers are available, and also bone densitometry and dietetic consultations.
