Get sorted at this laser clinic and medispa

Whether you’re thinking of getting a Botox boost, or trying a medical-grade treatment like HydraFacial or fat freezing (cryolipolysis), it’s important to choose a reliable clinic with a professional team of doctors. Here we look at Bio Aesthetic, a comprehensive laser clinic and medispa in Singapore offering a slew of body and face treatments that are performed by MOH-accredited doctors. We chat with founder and Managing Director Sandra Koh to tell us about the company, the doctors and why they’re trying to do it differently.

How and why did you start Bio Aesthetic?

I grew up in the beauty industry thanks to my mum, who ran a successful beauty chain for over 20 years. She has established a loyal clientele base, most of whom have also grown with the brand.

Bio Aesthetic came about from a natural progression due to changing consumer needs, from traditional beauty spas to modern aesthetic treatments. I started Bio Aesthetic as a pet project to reach out to professionals, managers, executives and businessmen (PMEBs), offering them fast aesthetic solutions that are different from traditional beauty therapies.

We started off with our signature HydraPeel facial (HydraFacial), a multi-step and quick solution for skin exfoliation and hydration. Many PMEBs don’t have the luxury of time to spend over two hours in a beauty salon. They want to look good and well groomed with maximum efficiency; this is where we come in.

With the combination of doctor-designed treatments like High Intense Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) and skin boosters, clients can expect faster results with clinical efficacy.

As we come from a beauty salon background, we understand what clients expect out of a great experience. We understand there can be quite a bit of hard selling in other beauty establishments, and we don’t approve of such practices. We believe in educating our clients in terms of what their skin or body needs. By sharing how our solutions can help them, they can understand why we’re suggesting those treatments in the first place. We don’t believe in selling for the sake of it. We offer solutions for their individual needs and ultimately leave it to them if they wish to take up the treatments or not.

What is Bio Aesthetic’s approach to aesthetic treatments?

We take a safe approach to aesthetic procedures. As all skin types are different, we believe in treating each condition with caution to see how the skin reacts to the treatment. It has to be a progressive journey with us. Our treatments use high-quality active ingredients and medical-grade machines that have been proven to be effective. Our staff go through one full month of training to ensure they’re well equipped with the skills and customer service knowledge to serve our clients well.

Are there any new launches at the clinic you’re excited about?

We’re very excited about the latest anti-ageing, skin hydrating and lifting combination, Profhilo. It uses the highest concentration of hyaluronic acid (64MG/2ml) in the market right now. Profhilo is suitable for saggy skin, fine wrinkles, dry skin, ageing skin and acne scars. A combination of low and high molecular weight hyaluronic acid is used, providing a hydrating and lifting effect.

Profhilo produces four types of collagen and elastin to firm, tighten and lift the overall skin; the result is an intense hydration and a dewy complexion. It’s the first “injectable skincare” that targets skin laxity through the production of elastin, collagen and fat stem cells, which often become loose during the ageing process.

What are some of the most popular treatments at the clinic?

For skin, our signature Hydrapeel facial and laser toning are great for deep pore cleansing, skin hydration and evening out the skin tone. Another popular option is skin boosters; we use medical-grade fillers like Teosyal Redensity I and Rejuran Healer, which have great effects on the skin such as deep hydration, pore reduction and collagen stimulation. For body, fat freezing is popular as it helps to eradicate unwanted fat tissues.

Over the years, have you seen any shift in aesthetic concerns?

A lot of patients are concerned with pigmentation, skin laxity, sagginess, eyebag issues. These are some of the common ageing concerns that most patients have. We’ve also seen more aesthetic enhancements amongst the younger clientele, who often request V-face shaping and a sharper nose. There is definitely a shift from medical concerns like acne management to facial enhancements.

What are the main differences between Bio Aesthetic Laser Clinic and Medispa?

Bio Aesthetic Medispa offers medical aesthetic spa treatments like Hydrapeel Facial, fat freezing, teeth whitening and laser hair removal. We also use cosmeceutical-grade products like Juliette Armand from Greece; it has a high concentration of top-quality active ingredients for safe and effective results.

Bio Aesthetic Laser Clinic offers doctor-performed treatments like Botox, fillers, threadlifts, HIFU, pigmentation laser and acne management. MOH-accredited doctors perform all the treatments in the Laser Clinic.
