A good eyelash serum can get your lashes looking thicker and longer, while saving you a fortune when you skip the extensions! An eyebrow growth serum that works can also create well-formed and fuller brows naturally, thus reducing your makeup time. Boutique beauty e-store Beauty Closet stocks a niche range of skincare and beauty products from around the world, including a vegan eyelash serum and eyebrow growth treatment from Australian brand Cangro. The proof is in the pudding; we tested out the eyelash and brow growth serums for four to six weeks to give you our complete review!
We review a vegan eyelash serum and brow treatment
Long Lashes Eyelash Enhancer by Cangro, $89
“This Australian-made product is vegan, and cruelty-, hormone- and paraben-free. The tube looks like a mascara but when opened it has a fine brush on the end, which you use to ‘paint’ a line along your lash line. Peptides, antioxidants and grape seed extracts help to moisturise, condition and strengthen the lashes at the roots.
I hate having things inside or close to my eyeballs, but this eyelash serum did not run into my eyes, or sting at all. Before you apply any other products or makeup around it, the serum needs to dry. For me, it took only 10 minutes or so as I used a folding fan in the bathroom to speed up the process.
I used this daily for six weeks, and almost immediately noticed I had fewer lashes dropping. I didn’t notice a lot of lengthening, but it seemed to ‘fill in the gaps’ so my uneven lashes looked thicker. Hydroxipropyl Guar, a plant-based ingredient, helps to separate, define and slightly coat the lashes. So, when I put mascara on, my lashes definitely looked longer. As your eyes are such a focus at the moment above a mask, that is a bonus!”

“My lashes are decently long, but they tend to be thin and brittle, resulting in sparse spots. So I’m often on the hunt for a gentle yet effective lash serum that conditions and thickens my lashes. After trying this vegan lash growth serum for a course of six weeks, I’m happy to say that it ticks all the right boxes. Just look at my before and after photo above and you’ll see what I mean!
Made in Australia, the Cangro Long Lashes Eye Enhancer contains a magical mix of vitamins, peptides and antioxidants to nourish and repair lashes. It’s suitable for those with sensitive eyes (me!) and works well as a conditioning treatment if you have lash extensions on. I incorporate it at the last step of my night-time skincare regime; all I need is one swipe across my lash line, which takes no time at all. The best part? It doesn’t sting my eyes! The results have been promising so far – my lashes look slightly longer, thicker and even a tad darker – and I can’t wait to see the full effect at the 12-week mark.”

Bold Brows Eyebrow Enhancer, $89
“I have at last got into tinting my eyebrows regularly, which is great as eyebrows are so important, especially since they can fade into oblivion when you’re fair (and greying). That was going well, but then I thought it would be nice if there were more strands of brow hair. When my brows are darker the sparseness gets accentuated, so I wanted them to be a little thicker. I was looking a bit ‘stripey’.
I received this eyebrow growth serum for a review and, to be honest, I’ve always felt sceptical about such products. It’s always a bit like, ‘How is this going to actually thicken my eyebrows?’ The product comes in a mascara-like tube with a wand, and you’re supposed to use it twice a day. As I’m not great on schedules, I probably did it once a day or twice on some days and would forget for a day or two. But after just a couple of weeks I could see a difference. I’ve used it for a month now and recently got my brows tinted – the difference is pretty clear. My brows look smoother and definitely more abundant. I’m very impressed!”
