5 self-tanning products we love

13th January 2020 by Anthia Chng 2 Min Read

https://expatliving.sg/beauty-five-self-tanning-products-for-women-in-singapore/

Staying indoors doesn’t mean you can’t fake that bronzy glow. If you’re trying to avoid the sun with a fake tan, here are our recommendations for top self-tanning products to try at home.

Bondi Sands Self Tanning Foam (dark)

“I’ve been using this product for about five years now and it’s the one I recommend to all my friends. After many unfortunate trials and errors with other brands, this product is by far the best; it gives you a golden-brown, streak-free tan. That being said, I did use the Bondi Sands Medium and it was quite orange – so, definitely get the dark even if you are paler. The Medium is orange-based and the dark is green-based.

With the mousse, you can also choose how dark to go, so you get loads of flexibility in the colour. For the best outcome, use their own Bondi Sands Application Mitt ($9.25) and the Bondi Sands Dual Action Exfoliating Mitt ($11). I buy mine from ASOS as they are a lot cheaper than Amazon.” – Michaela Bisset

Dove Derma Spa Summer Revived Lotion

“I have been religiously using Dove Derma Spa Summer Revived lotion since my university days (and I’m now 31!). This gradual tanner kept my skin hydrated and bronzed throughout the harsh winters in the UK. I have continued using it in Singapore as it works as a great ‘top-up’, giving my skin that perfect caramel colour so I can save myself the extra sun exposure! Best of all, I love the smell!” – Leanda Rathmell

Neutrogena Build-A-Tan Gradual Sunless Tan Lotion

“After many disasters with brown ankles and knees, patchy colour and an often missing tan at the back of my legs, I tried this product. It builds up over a few days of applications, and moisturises as well. I don’t mind having to apply it once a week or so to minimise the glowing white of my legs. The only downside? It’s not always available in Singapore.” – Danielle Rossetti

Karin Herzog Tone & Tan

This self-tanning product gives you a gradual tan without any streaks. The preservative- and paraben-free formula contains Vitamin B12 and green tea extract to improve skin texture and reduce water retention, while providing an even and natural-looking glow.

Infinity Sun Glow on the Go

Great for touchups on the go, this fuss-free self tanner gives you a quick all-over colour in a jiffy. It’s made with seven essential oils, as well as Vitamins A and E, to nourish the skin. The tan lasts up to five days and can achieve the same shade as your spray tan.
