Illuminate Medispa
Aesthetic clinic review: HydraFacial Syndeo and Onda Pro V-Lift for glowing skin
Iʼve officially tipped well over 40 now and while Iʼm embracing it, gravity has started to make itself known, particularly around my jawline and cheeks! Iʼve been researching aesthetic clinics in Singapore that offer visible lifting without breaking the bank, and Iʼm increasingly drawn to natural, collagen-stimulating options rather than risky fillers. Skin boosters and bio-stimulators feel far more aligned with how I want to age: fresher, not frozen!
Illuminate Medispa is located in Dempsey Hill and feels more like a boutique day spa than a clinic. The space is large, calm and inviting. I first met Dr Joanne, who carefully listened to my concerns and completely understood my preference for a natural approach.
We began with the HydraFacial Syndeo, a deep cleanse combined with exfoliation and gentle hydration with hyaluronic acid. The three-step process is customised to your skin concerns, and my face looked smoother and glowing immediately afterwards. With no downtime, itʼs perfect if you have an event coming up.
Next was the Onda Pro V-Lift, focusing on my lower face and jawline. Iʼd previously considered radiofrequency for tightening, but Iʼd heard it can be very painful and expensive. When Onda Pro V-Lift was suggested as a more accessible option for lifting and contouring – and it doesnʼt hurt – I was very keen to try it.
It uses microwave frequency to precisely target fat cells, improve skin laxity and stimulate collagen production. The sensation was surprisingly comfortable, combining warmth with a cooling effect. It was nothing like the painful stories Iʼd heard. I noticed a subtle but visible firmness through my jawline and cheeks. It wasnʼt dramatic, just a slightly more defined and lifted version of myself. For optimal results, they recommend three to four treatments.
This dual combo was the perfect balance: instant glow from the HydraFacial and gradual tightening from Onda. For anyone looking for a natural, non-invasive way to counteract sagging without injectables, itʼs a very welcome nudge in the right direction. I left with skin that felt refreshed, lifted and glowing!

Evoque Medical Aesthetics
Aesthetic clinic review: Korean Diamond Medi-Facial with LED light therapy
A medi-facial is a specialised skincare treatment available at aesthetic clinics that uses medical-grade products, devices and tools to target a multitude of skin concerns. Unlike a regular facial, it works on deeper-level skin issues using advanced techniques and technology that penetrate below the epidermis.
I recently did this one at Evoque Medical Aesthetics and it was great. Their first-trial prices are also very good – if you want to try the extensive Diamond facial that I had, itʼs only $88, while a basic medi-facial starts from $48.
My session began with a skin assessment so the therapist could tailor the treatment to my skin’s needs. Then came a cleanse and exfoliation, and a vacuum-based device was used to remove impurities from deep within the pores. After these preps, a series of treatment steps followed:
• Oxygen Nano-Mist Spray Treatment: This delivers concentrated oxygen together with Evoque’s medical grade Revivé ampoule directly into the skin. It enhances penetration and absorption while supporting collagen stimulation to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
• Two-Step Korean ULDM (Ultra Dynamic Massage): High-density ultrasonic energy targets specific skin depths, while dynamic massage works across all skin layers. Together, they enhance serum absorption and support skin elasticity, hydration and collagen regeneration.
• Korean Oxygen Dome with LED Light Therapy: This step delivers high purity oxygen and nutrients to the skin, helping to re-energise skin cells, calm the skin and restore balance.
• Mask and Shoulder Massage: A relaxing massage is performed at the same time as a facial mask to seal in the benefits, relieve tension, improve circulation and complete the experience with overall relaxation and comfort.
Afterwards, my skin felt so clean and clear. I’m sure that if you get this clinical facial regularly, it will also help any moisturisers and serums you use to do their work more effectively, as well as stimulate collagen internally. Another bonus: this aesthetic clinic is located right next to the exit of Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station, so it’s very convenient to get to by public transport.

SSKINS Medispa
Aesthetic clinic review: The Corage Skin Catalyst Treatment for sun spots and more
I had a wonderful facial experience from start to finish at SSKINS Medispa. Before the treatment began, we did a 3D imaging scan of my face, which showed several layers of my skin and helped identify things like pores, sun spots and areas of sensitivity. This allowed the therapist to create a very tailored treatment plan.
We decided on the Corage Skin Catalyst Treatment, an award-winning, barrier-boosting facial designed to support skin structure and vitality. Corage uses multi-frequency technology ranging from 4MHz to 64MHz to stimulate the skin – its capability even surpasses typical RF machines. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable and explained everything clearly in easy-to-understand terms, which I really appreciated.
The treatment rooms were individually temperature controlled and very relaxing, with super comfortable duvets. I was given a cosy robe to change into, and then the facial began with a calming breathing relaxation that helped me fully unwind. The little touches like the essential oils and pressure point massage all added to the experience, and I felt very pampered and renewed!
Following the treatment, I was given tailored samples of SkinCeuticals products to trial at home. I also received helpful advice on what to avoid and which products to start using for my sensitive skin. The staff were very kind, warm and welcoming throughout the entire visit. Overall, it felt very personalised and professional. SSKINS Medispa is fairly new and in a great spot just opposite Tanglin Mall.
