Pet-friendly restaurants and places at Dempsey Hill

4th April 2022 by Rebecca Bisset 4 Min Read

It’s been so nice being at home with our dogs more, but now that we’re starting to get out and about again, it’s easy to feel guilty about leaving them behind. They needn’t stay and be lonely, though! Here are some pet shops, doggy day care and dog-friendly restaurants at Dempsey Hill.

Toys & Treats for Pets

Shop for some new gear and healthy food at Singpet, a pet superstore spanning 5,000 square feet. There’s just about everything you might need here, from food and treats to beds, wearables and even healthcare – and all at wholesale prices! Sign up for the annual membership and you’ll enjoy discounts of up to 50 percent off. Best of all, your pup will have plenty of fun roaming the aisles for their favourite toy while you shop.

The Wagington – Doggy Daycare & Spa

Anticipating a busy work day or heading for a weekend in a hotel and can’t bring your pet along? You can have them picked up for full-time day-care or even their own super staycay at The Wagington! The centre features a pet playground, air-conditioned indoor space and “Doghill Garden” outdoor area – plenty of spots for napping and playing after a morning walk. You can also sign your pooch up for a splashing good time in the 1.2m-deep bone pool; or give them some pampering at The Wagington’s W Salon & Spa, which uses the finest Les Pooch products!

Here are six alfresco spots at Dempsey where pets are welcome to join you as you eat!

#1 The Dempsey Project

The innovative menu at this dog-friendly restaurant/cafe features all your favourite brunch classics and wholesome mains, from toasted sandwiches and superfood salads to yummy pasta and indulgent cheese boards. There’s a great mix of trending dishes, too, such as gluten-free, vegan and dairy-free options. The newest addition is a food shop for buying goodies for home.

#2 Red Sparrow SG

With years spent in Vietnam mastering the classics and working with pushcart vendors, Chef Jeffrey understands the essence of Vietnamese food. Come here to savour authentic dishes such as pho, Vietnamese pancakes and freshly baked banh mi. Seafood lovers shouldn’t miss the mien cua (wok-fried glass noodles with cabbage and crab meat)!

#3 La Salsa Kick

off your weekend with a refreshing margarita and some scrumptious Latin American cuisine at La Salsa. You’ll find a wide range of tacos, quesadillas and enchiladas, along with signature dishes such as chargrilled baby back ribs, beer-fried prawn tacos and “kitchen sink” burritos. (Don’t forget to sneak a bite for your pup, too – it’s dog friendly restaurant too!)

#4 Terra Madre

Singapore’s largest organic and natural retail store opened in Dempsey in late 2021. It’s a one-stop shop for all things organic and natural, at pocket-friendly prices. There’s an Australian-inspired menu, too, served in a beautiful outdoor area (with a bowl of water included for your furkid!). From a ‘Nduja and spinach omelette on sourdough for breakfast to grilled grass-fed lamb chops drizzled with lemon oil for lunch, there’s plenty of variety.

#5 Hathaway

This modern local restaurant set amidst jungle endeavours to preserve the heritage of our taste memories, while embracing new food culture and sensibilities. Whether it’s Indian, Malay or Peranakan tastes interlaced with French and Middle Eastern concepts, the team loves the cultural cacophony of Singapore! The lovely outdoor area is pet-friendly, or opt for the cool, classy interior.

#6 SIRI HOUSE

There’s a lovely outdoor terrace at this dog-friendly restaurant, and you’ll love the contemporary Asian cuisine on offer. Among the signature dishes is a decadent crustacean pappardelle in lobster and prawn bisque cream, crowned with grilled tiger prawns and smoked mussels. Or make it a weekend brunch date, with sharing plates like octopus and chorizo arancini, and nori mayo-laced katsu burgers. Plus, the cocktails are crafted with house-made infusions, juices, syrups and spice mixes.
