Ever wondered why anti-ageing aesthetic treatment Ultherapy has so many fans? This non-invasive, FDA-approved procedure uses ultrasound energy to help regenerate collagen production, thus lifting and tightening in all the right places without any need for surgery. The Ultherapy software now has had an upgrade, and we’ve got the inside scoop.
What’s new
Previously, the Ultherapy device used a temperature of 95 degrees Centigrade, which frankly, can be unbearable for many. And when the patient can’t take the pain, all the doctor can do is reduce the strength of the treatment or cut it short; either way, you’re unlikely to get the full effect. Now, the upgraded software works with a much lower temperature of 65 degrees, making the experience far more comfortable and pleasant for the patient. With the lower temperature, the procedure can deliver more transducer lines of ultrasound, which also makes the treatment more effective, according to research.
How it works
Ultherapy bypasses the surface of the skin to deliver the right amount of ultrasound energy, at the right depths and temperature. This triggers a natural response under the skin, jumpstarting the regenerative process that produces new collagen. While some patients can see visible results after the first treatment, the full results are gradual and typically take around two to three months to show. Areas that are suitable for treatment include the brows, upper face, lower face, jawline and neck.

Boost collagen stimulation
Want more out of your treatment? Cutis Medical Laser Clinics recommends combining BTL Exilis to further the collagen-building and skin-tightening benefits of Ultherapy. Similar to Ultherapy, this non-invasive procedure works at the deeper layers of the skin to stimulate collagen, contour tissue and tighten skin without downtime or surgery.

Find a qualified doctor
An aesthetic doctor’s experience matters significantly – after all, you’d want to fully trust the person working on your face! No matter how new or updated the device is, it’s only as good as the doctor who uses it. Medical and Scientific Director of Cutis Medical Laser Clinics Dr Sylvia Ramirez has over 25 years of experience in the industry, and has had training at Harvard Medical School in Boston and Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York.
