Keep your holiday photos here

13th January 2019 by Melinda Murphy 3 Min Read

https://expatliving.sg/travel-diary-app-itineraries-with-string/

Back from a holiday, wanting to hold onto those magical memories, but never have enough time to put together a proper scrapbook? The new app STRING Travel is the answer you’ve been looking for. January is a month when many expats are bathed in the glow of recent holiday memories. Many of us made our way back home while others took advantage of the slow time at work for a big holiday adventure. Nothing is quite as lovely, right? Remembering those small moments and special places that make a holiday so magical. There really is this red-letter kind of feeling when you first return, a girlish kind of crush on the place you just went.

I don’t know about you, but in the days after every holiday, I vow to organise my photos and thoughts so I can relive the trip over and over. I want to capture it to show my kids when they’re older so they will remember our family holiday, too. On the plane home, I daydream about organising our photos so my husband and I can both look at them when we’re toothless centenarians, eating mush in a nursing home. I think how cool it’d be to have an easy way to share my adventure with a friend who wants to know where I went when they plan their trip to the same place.

But I never quite get it done. I hit the ground running after a holiday and, before I know it, weeks have gone by and the trip has slipped into oblivion. Big sigh.

A new way to remember

Until now… now, I’ve found this new app, STRING Travel, that works a bit like a travel log only far cooler. STRING lets me log my trip on the go. I can add photos and comments as I visit places, right then and there while I’m standing on the spot while the memories and feelings are still with me. STRING Travel is kind of like Instagram with a purpose. Or I can go back later and fill in the details if I’d like. The best part? It’s easy.

The cool thing is when I use STRING, I have a travel log all done when I get home. I can use it to look back at my trip rather than stumbling on photos a year from now when I’m looking for something else, thinking, “Oh that was cool. Where was that?” Or searching for a photo that I just can’t find to save my life. With STRING, all the photos and info is right there in my account with the info I want to remember about each place. Bam. Done. Travel log in the can! And it’s shareable. My husband can look at it and my kids can, too. This means I can also easily share all this travel wisdom with my friends who are planning the same trip. Easy peasey.

And I can also use the app to plan a trip, building what I want to do from different itineraries already on the app. Sure, I would probably still look at my old go-to trip planning sites or discover places through word of mouth, but STRING makes where I store my travel stories meaningful. And at the same time, I can check out my friends’ trip memories, too. This makes the whole trip planning process a bit more personal. Generally, I trust what my friends tell me more than some other app, right?

Not too late

Bummed you didn’t download this app before your December holiday trip? No worries. Do it now. Add your photos and comments while they’re fresh. Start your saving your memories today so you can look back for years to come. Trust me. Using this app is far easier and less time consuming than putting together a scrapbook. If you have already shrugged off your December vacation as a loss, then think about downloading STRING Travel before your Chinese New Year adventure. Start building your memories today!

Get the app now – it’s available on both the IOS and Android app stores. Visit stringtravel.com to find out more.
