Looking to squeeze in a rejuvenating getaway before the festive rush? Check out our guide to spa and golfing destinations in Southeast Asia, all just a few short hours from Singapore. Conrad Bali Resort, Salinda Resort Phu Quoc Island, The Andaman and Bintan Resorts, here we come!

Spa: Conrad Bali Resort, Indonesia

In a nutshell:

The Jiwa Spa at the award-winning beachfront Conrad Bali Resort is based on the simple philosophy of nourishing the soul, and has been set up as a tranquil escape from everyday life – a place to replenish the body’s energy. The range of treatments is designed to deliver therapeutic benefits, combining ancient Balinese wisdom, contemporary spa technology and luxurious products and amenities.

What to expect:

The signature Ocean Flow treatment begins with a relaxing footbath ritual. Following this, you’ll drift away to the long, flowing movements that mirror the soothing rhythm of the ocean waves. A personalised essential oil blend delivers healing and calming benefits, as your therapist applies smooth strokes and acupressure. A pampering “bright eyes” treatment hydrates the skin and reduces puffiness and dark circles. The memorable experience ends with a warming ginger and cinnamon tea, served in the peaceful ambience of the spa’s surrounding water gardens. The treatment is available in 60, 90 and 120-minute versions.

Good to know:

All Jiwa Spa treatments include complimentary use of the hydrotherapy area, including steam, sauna and pools. The spa offers facials, exfoliation, manicures, pedicures, plus specific treatments for honeymooners, other couples, men and children.

Spa: Salinda Resort Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam

In a nutshell:

Salinda Resort Phu Quoc Island is the first luxury resort located right on the edge of beautiful Long Beach, yet it’s only a 10-minute drive to the peaceful town of Duong Dong, and the island’s international airport; Phu Quoc itself is only a short flight from Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) and Singapore.

What to expect:

The resort’s 121 deluxe rooms, suites and villas feature nature-inspired designs and spacious private balconies that let you make the most of the glorious surrounds. Among the lovely aspects of this Vietnamese island resort are its serenity, the royal-blue colour of the sea, and the Salinda Spa – operated by a professional spa team from Thailand. No wonder it’s a favourite among honeymooning couples and families looking for some serious holiday pampering.

Good to know:

Traditional Thai massage and treatments are arguably second to none, and the spa’s therapists also bring with them that renowned Thai hospitality, impressing guests with their warm smiles and friendly nature. Great care and special attention are given to every treatment.

Spa and golf: The Andaman, Langkawi, Malaysia

In a nutshell:

The Andaman is a Luxury Collection Resort located in a dramatic tropical setting on Langkawi, tucked away between ancient rainforest and the tranquil Datai Bay that’s fringed with an 8,000-year-old coral reef. With its abundant wildlife and exotic flora, the surrounding nature is a real highlight of The Andaman, and the resort activities are designed to let guests explore its beauty.

What to expect:

The rainforest might be old, but you’ll feel much younger after a visit to award-winning spa, V Integrated Wellness. Perched on a hill with breathtaking views of the Andaman Sea, the treatments are inspired by the “Tree of Life”, a metaphor for the interconnectedness of all living things.

The Els Club Teluk Datai, meanwhile, is every golfer’s paradise and is just a few minutes’ drive from the resort. The course was designed by former world number one Ernie Els, and boasts views of the ocean and limestone peaks.

Good to know:

Currently on offer is a golf and spa package called “A Hole in One”, including daily buffet breakfast for two, free Wi-Fi, and a daily round of golf (including cart, personalised golf bag tag and more) or an 80-minute spa treatment (plus 15 percent off additional treatments). Rates start from MYR1,250 (S$420) per room for single occupancy, MYR1,690 ($570) for double occupancy. Valid for stays up to 22 December 2015.
