Forget the cars, it’s our pulses that will be racing when Robbie Williams steps onto the stage at this year’s F1 in Marina Bay. Wow, that was cheesy. It just goes to show how excited we are to discover that the British singer will be the headline act on Saturday 20 September 2014.
The Angels singer will perform on the Padang stage following the qualifying race, with the concert being accessible from all zones. Three-day or Saturday ticket holders will be eligible to attend the concert (see more on Singapore GP tickets here).
Robbie who rocketed to fame as part of boyband Take That, will stop off in Singapore on the way to Australia, as part of his Swings Both Ways tour. The 40 year old is known for being both an incredible singer and performer, interacting with the crowd in cheeky fashion to ensure that every show is unique.
Robbie is the second star to be confirmed for the huge Padang stage – boyband Mayday from Taiwan will sing their hearts out to thousands of teenage girls on Friday September 19. The F1 concert will be the British star’s first performance in Singapore in thirteen years.
Other headliners who have been announced for 2014’s F1 are John Legend, the Pet Shop Boys and Ziggy Marley – but their shows will only be accessible to those with Zone 1 tickets.
Now we’re just waiting on the announcement of Sunday’s Padang act, following the main race. Last year’s Sunday F1 star was Rihanna, so we’ve got high hopes.
