Have you been wanting to try ozone therapy in Singapore? Meet British expat and entrepreneur NICKY ANDRÉ, who tells us about her ozone therapy wellness centre Riviera Ozone and how the innovative therapy has played a huge role in transforming her physical and mental health.
Where are you from originally, and what do you miss about it?
I was born in the UK, but I’ve always felt drawn to new horizons. At 29, I followed that instinct and moved to Fiji – a life-changing experience that left such an imprint. I still own a piece of land there today. From Fiji, I eventually settled in Italy and then the South of France, where I spent 17 beautiful years and gave birth to my two children. But life, as it often does, had other plans. While I don’t miss the UK itself, I do miss being close to family – and those magical winters skiing in the French Alps.
What brought you to Singapore?
In 2018, my world shifted dramatically. I went through a divorce and suffered my second stroke. Life felt fragile and uncertain. But in 2022, love found its way back into my life when I met Andy. Just a year later, he shared bittersweet news: he needed to move to Singapore.
He urged me to visit, and when I did, something unexpected happened – I fell in love. Not just with Andy, but with Singapore itself: its culture, its warmth, its people. It felt like a place of renewal.
Over the next year, I poured myself into research – schools for my two young children, neighbourhoods we could call home and whether I could introduce something close to my heart: ozone therapy, a treatment yet to be discovered in Singapore.
On 16 December 2023, with my two children and three suitcases, I left France behind. It wasn’t just a relocation. It was a brave leap toward healing, possibility and a new beginning in a place that already felt like home.
What an amazing journey! How did you first come across ozone therapy and what made you want to create your company, Riviera Ozone?
After my second stroke, I was left battling severe hypertension. I was on multiple medications, but their effect was limited. My physical and mental health were suffering, and I knew I couldn’t continue down that path long-term.
In search of alternatives, I reached out to two pharmacists I had worked with. Both independently suggested ozone therapy. At the time, I couldn’t find anyone offering it in France, so I flew to the UK to try my first ozone steam pod session.
A single session was all it took for my blood pressure to drop noticeably. It was a moment of clarity.
Back in France, everything hit me at once: I had stepped down as Managing Director of a Monaco-based company supporting the superyacht industry. I was in the midst of a divorce. I needed to work, and I needed ozone therapy regularly.
The very next day, I tracked down my supplier, drove to test a pod, and placed my order. At home, I looked at my dining room, stared at the enormous sideboard, marched to the shed, grabbed a hammer and smashed it to pieces. I cleared the space, painted the walls, and within a week, the pod arrived.
Soon after, clients were lining up at my door. That decision didn’t just change my physical and mental health; it changed my purpose.
What was it like bringing Riviera Ozone therapy to Singapore – any surprises or challenges?
For nearly a year, I navigated a detailed process with Singapore’s Ministry of Health and Health Sciences Authority. They had many questions about the pods, the manufacturer and about me personally. I submitted everything – technical schematics, website links, social media accounts, my professional bio, even my 30-page training manual.
As the move drew closer, approval still hadn’t come. Without it, relocating with my children wouldn’t be viable. Then, just as uncertainty was setting in, it happened. The approval came through. It was a moment I’ll never forget – the green light that made everything possible.
How would you describe your approach to wellness and health? Has it evolved over time?
Absolutely, especially after my physical and mental health challenges. In the past, I leaned heavily on conventional medicine, but over time I realised symptom management alone wasn’t enough. I needed to understand the root causes and support my body’s ability to heal.
That led me to integrative therapies, with ozone therapy as a turning point. It helped shift my focus from just surviving to truly thriving. Now, I take a more holistic approach that combines science-backed therapies with lifestyle choices: quality sleep, mindful movement, stress reduction and cellular-level detox and recovery.
Wellness, for me, is no longer just about fixing what’s broken. It’s about creating a sustainable, vibrant state of being – physically, emotionally and energetically. Riviera Ozone has clinics in the French Riviera, Budapest and now Singapore.
How do you juggle it all? What’s a typical day like?
It all comes down to organisation and a clear, focused mind. My days are structured and intentional. As Singapore is closing, Europe is opening, so long hours are a given.
I gave myself a year before looking for someone to train for the Singapore clinic, and I’m very happy to say Karen Chia has just completed her six-week training and joined our team. Karen came to Riviera Ozone through her GP, and after seeing the benefits firsthand, we began discussing the possibility of her joining us. In fact, all five of our therapists originally came to me as clients, which speaks volumes about the therapy’s impact and the heart behind our company.
With Karen now on board, I can shift focus to the next phase: expanding Riviera Ozone into neighbouring Southeast Asian countries.
Beyond ozone therapy, tell us about life in Singapore and what you love about it.
We live near Holland Village and love the eclectic, slow pace. It’s small enough to feel familiar but large enough to offer variety.
Weekends are sacred family time, especially since I often work late during the week. We love cycling along the East Coast and exploring nearby forest trails. It’s how we unwind and reconnect with nature.
We’re also a family of food lovers, so Sundays are usually spent in the kitchen preparing a roast or firing up the barbecue together!
Riviera Ozone Singapore is at #03-11 SBF Centre, 160 Robinson Road.
