Remembrance Day in Singapore 2014: Where to find poppy pins, plus Kranji War Cemetery’s ceremony

In 2014, Remembrance Sunday will fall on November 9, with Kranji War Cemetery holding a Ceremony of Remembrance to mark the end of World War I. Organised by the British High Commission Singapore, and in partnership with the Singapore Armed Forces Veterans’ League, members of the public can go along and pay their respects to those who died in the line of duty. The ceremony will begin at 7.30am and is thirty minutes long, with diplomatic corps and military in attendance. There will be very limited seating available, so it’s best to arrive at 7am in order to secure a chair. Address: Kranji War Cemetery, 9 Woodlands Road, 738656.

In the meantime, here’s a handy list of where to pick up your poppy pins around Singapore…
