When did you last clean the baby pram?

15th June 2022 by Patricea Chow 2 Min Read

https://expatliving.sg/pram-cleaning-services-singapore-pramwash-for-baby-items/

If you own a pram, baby car seat, baby carrier or other baby items, how important is it to get it cleaned by a professional cleaning service in Singapore? Do you know how to clean prams so that it’s more than a surface clean? KENNETH TAN, the baby gear maintenance expert of Pramwash, shines a light on the often-overlooked aspects of hygiene for strollers and other baby gear. Plus, read on for chance to win a complete wash treatment!

Why do I need to clean a pram regularly?

Babies spend a substantial amount of time sleeping in prams, strollers and baby car seats. While most of us wash new bedsheets before sleeping on them and regularly thereafter, it doesn’t come as natural to do the same for baby gear with fabric.

However, bedsheet fabric and pram fabric undergo almost the same production process. More importantly, they’re not washed before reaching the consumer. Hence before putting your baby in a pram or stroller, it’s advisable to give it a good wash. Afterwards, the baby items with fabric should be washed regularly just like we wash our bedsheets. This will remove sweat and food debris, which encourage the growth of bacteria on the baby gear.

What baby items should I clean regularly? Any tips on how to clean prams?

The top five items are:

  • stroller (pram, pushchair)
  • playpen
  • carrier
  • rocker
  • car seat

My recommendation is to wash them prior to use, then once every three months. It’s also a good idea to engage professional cleaning services in Singapore when there’s vomit or poop or pee leakage on baby items.

Can I clean the baby gear myself? Or won’t that do a good enough job?

Vacuuming, wiping and steaming will only clean the surface. They won’t thoroughly remove stains and bacteria build-up.

Furthermore, we’ve encountered numerous occasions where the wrong cleaning solution is used on stains. Instead of removing the stain, this makes things worse.

We’ve successfully removed wrongly treated stains on prams, strollers and baby gear, but it takes a few attempts.

What makes Pramwash different from other professional cleaners in Singapore?

Pramwash was established and is run by parents, for parents. We are specialists in the maintenance of baby items, providing professional treatment of stains and sanitising of baby gear.

Besides prams and baby strollers, we’ve washed car seat strollers, booster seats, cot mattresses, rockers, baby carriers and more.

Are Pramwash cleaning services safe for my child?

Absolutely! All our cleaning solutions and methods are tested and proven to be baby-safe. They won’t cause any skin allergy. This is especially important as a baby’s skin is very delicate.
