Sinful but oh-so worth it

First impressions:

Snuggled in the old home of quirky chicken restaurant Bird Bird, Wolf on the Hill is a month-long collaboration with local burger house Wolf Burger. Offering a spanking new menu of mouthgasmic bites and naughty milkshakes, this pop-up is an ideal spot for a night out with the girlfriends or the bros. Seating is limited, so we recommend going slightly earlier to beat the dinner crowd.

Grub on these:

Items on the menu are pretty pocket-friendly, with the Wolf Wagyu ($23) being the priciest of the lot. Yet, considering the quality of the meat and toppings, I’d say the burger is totally worth it. The patty was well-seasoned and incredibly juicy – it was the juiciest (and messiest) burger I’ve had in a long time. The port cheese gave it a savoury and creamy bite, with caramelised onions sandwiched in between lightly-grilled brioche buns; it was a match made in heaven. Another must-try is Bjorn’s fried chicken “Wurger” ($16), a tribute to the classic chicken and waffles dish. Think doritos-crusted fried chicken, sweet Thai chilli slaw and coconut sour cream laid on a freshly-made waffle.

Bite into the mouth-watering Wolf Wagyu

Sweet ending:

If you dig milkshakes as much as I do, you’ll love the spiked, adult versions offered here. While the Kahlua dark chocolate milkshake ($12.50) was a little too sweet for my liking, it definitely packed a punch in the alcohol department. The Bailey’s Horlicks milkshake ($12.50), which tasted like a throwback to childhood days, was hands-down a favourite of mine.

Last but not least:

Move aside, fries; I’ve found my new favourite bar snack, the candied bacon chips ($8). These addictive morsels of delight were savoury and sweet in a bite; they make for the perfect beer munchies!

Wolf on the Hill is ongoing from now until 31 December 2016. Keep a lookout on their Facebook page for details!
