International students in their final years often seek extra help with the Key Stage 3 curriculum and IGCSE. This new online learning platform provides a range of extra mathematics help, explanations and study motivation tricks. Below, we ask the founder about it and hear from two of his students. First, though, what is EduBulk?
Creating an online learning platform
EduBulk was founded by Michael, a seasoned private tutor who has guided over 50 students from international schools to achieve significantly improved scores. His students have come from schools like Dulwich College (Singapore), the Australian International School, Nexus International School, Invictus, and UWCSEA.
What Michael discovered while tutoring is that students benefit from a mix of straightforward and clear explanations when it comes to maths support, and study motivation involves regular interactive activities and quizzes. So he created the online platform EduBulk to act as a support for international students preparing for their exams, wanting to learn more or needing a bit of guidance.
How does it work?
EduBulk combines Michael’s expertise in engaging course videos, interactive quizzes with point-based rewards, and the option to redeem points for gift vouchers. This study motivation helps keep the kids on track.
Premium-tier members, through EduPro, have a range of extras. This includes one-on-one consultations, personalised quizzes, live question assistance and pre-exam group sessions.
The aim of the platform is to support students preparing for exams but also give them mathematics help so they can gain confidence and develop a deeper understanding of concepts.
Testimonials from Dulwich College students
“Michael’s explanation is clear and he is always punctual. His EduBulk videos are also great to help me understand Pythagoras and Trigonometry theories.” – Paisley
“Michael is a good teacher. He makes topics like coordinate geometry and simultaneous equations easily understandable. Thanks to his guidance, I have seen improvement in my proficiency in these areas.” – Zara
Meet the founder
Tell us a bit about yourself and why you created EduBulk.
I’ve been living in Singapore for nearly eight years and I began teaching online in 2020 while I was still a university student during the Circuit Breaker period. It was so rewarding to see students grow, overcome challenges and gain confidence in their abilities. So, I created EduBulk to make quality math education accessible, engaging and rewarding for more students. It’s also a place where they can learn at their own pace, get personalised support (EduPro), and stay motivated through interactive features and rewards
Could you share a story of one of your students?
Many of my students achieve A’s or B’s on their final exams. They often tell me that my teaching style is simple and easy to understand, even when delivered through video lessons. However, one student, in particular, stands out. She had been struggling with her IGCSE math and was convinced she wouldn’t pass, as she couldn’t understand anything her teacher explained at school. After joining EduBulk and having a consultation with me, we discovered that her teacher had overcomplicated some basic concepts. With my guidance, she gained clarity and ultimately scored an A in her IGCSE math exam.
