Longest champagne brunch: Pan Pacific Singapore’s new four-hour dining extravaganza

We’ve all been there – booked a Sunday brunch with a normal two-and-a-half hour all-you-can-eat-and-drink window, and by the time you’ve sat down and waited for your pals to trickle in, the time allocated to binging is shrinking. You have two options: Lobbing your manners aside and engaging in zero waiting or polite chat once the brunch begins. OR opting for a four-hour beautiful brunching extravaganza instead – keeping hold of both your gobbling time and friendships!

For the same price as most other brunches, Edge at Pan Pacific offers free-flow Veuve Clicquot Champagne from 12pm – 4pm every Sunday, with a seriously competitive array of dining options.

The new brunch is a great all-rounder, with Edge having the benefit of looking around at what other players in the game have been serving for years, then doing everything just slightly better. Dubbed Veuve-acious, the international brunch presents offerings from every continent save Antarctica. There’s duck confit ravioli, suckling pig, home-cured salmon gravlax, sushi, a selection of raw oysters and other seafood, and over 30 varieties of cheese, including raclette prepared à la minute (on the spot!).

The brunch is broken down into the following ‘areas’: Crustacean on Ice, ‘Live’ Grill, Egg Station, Pasta a la minute, Feast-On-Wheels (brought to the table), Two-Metre Cheeseboard and Dessert Station.

Besides the cooks, major credit goes to the interior designers. They provide something not easily found in the Sunday brunch set – space. There’s ample room between the tables and between the food stations and the guests. There are different styles of seating areas – cosy private spots to seat six, long narrow tables for groups of friends and smaller tables for twos and fours.

Even the little ones have their own dedicated area – a Kids’ Corner with DVDs and more to keep them distracted while you maximise the 20+ desserts on offer.
