Leica opens its Celebration of Photography exhibition in Singapore’s ION Art Gallery on 18 November. Featuring five talented female photographers, the show is anchored around Leica’s roots in capturing compelling stories through photography. It pays homage to the world of art and culture across all walks of life, amateur and professional photographers.
Free to the public, the focus of this year’s Celebration of Photography is on recognising women in photography. The exhibition is entitled “Her Lens, Her Narrative”, and the five featured photographers come from diverse backgrounds and delve into distinctive viewpoints of women in the realm of photography. With the camera as their voice, they bring forth a wide array of narratives, stories and emotions that illuminate the world around us. Keen photographers can also take part in workshops – details are further down.
Sunil Kaul, Managing Director of Leica Camera Asia Pacific says “At Leica Camera, we’re committed to championing and uplifting female photographers, not only in Singapore but worldwide. Through the lens of a woman, the world unfolds with a distinctive grace, unveiling perspectives that echo the heartbeat of inspiration. This exhibition stands as our heartfelt tribute, expressing deep respect for their boundless creativity, skills and discerning eyes.”
