And, you don’t want to be feeling more tired at the end of the holiday than before you left. Here are some great family-friendly resorts in Asia that aren’t too far from Singapore and have loads to offer kids and their parents!

For your next getaway, gather the fam and head to InterContinental Koh Samui Resort on the popular Thai island. The waters off the five-star property are among the only places where you can observe the country’s famous pink dolphins. The resort’s Pink Dolphin Discovery Tour offers guests the option of a half- or full-day speedboat tour to the nearby Khanon area (25 minutes away) to see the friendly creatures. On the way back, the boat will pop by Koh Tan where you can enjoy snorkelling or swimming in waters filled with tropical reef fish, fan corals and giant clams.

Take your pick of the hotel’s luxurious rooms and villas, including the spacious Club Two Bedroom Residence Villa, which can comfortably house the entire brood. While the parents enjoy cocktails at the Air Bar or a relaxing massage at Baan Thai Spa by Harnn, the kids will be entertained with fun games and activities at the Planet Trekker’s Kids’ Club. There are also nanny services, and little ones below the age of four get complimentary kids’ meals.

Telunas Beach Resort

Telunas Beach Resort villas birds eye view

Telunas Beach Resort has recently added four new overwater bungalows to its collection, two of which are three-bedroom villas – perfect for families, and super close to Singapore! Besides these, the Indonesian resort also has overwater rooms that are located on the main Telunas jetty. If you need baby cots or extra mattresses, just let the team know and they’ll arrange it for you. The resort has loads of fun activities on offer, including kayaking, hiking, badminton, ping-pong, gaga ball, beach volleyball and soccer, and even a low ropes course. Brave little ones (and adults) will also love leaping off the new jumping deck! Families can also enjoy exploring the beach and tidal pools, getting creative at the pottery studio and having a fun bonfire under the stars.

During meal times, dig into a buffet-style spread at the overwater dining room, including yummy desserts and fruit. There’s also a special kids’ menu for little diners, and vegetarian options for any who want them. In the evenings, you’ll be able to catch the sunset while enjoying the cool ocean breeze.

Guys: did you know that your skin is structurally different from that of ladies? For most men, androgen (testosterone) stimulation results in skin that’s thicker and tougher than women’s skin. This also means you might need something more than just your wife’s, mum’s or sister’s moisturiser or face wash!

Lumin was founded on this concept; this California-based online store offers simple yet effective skincare for men, tailored to different skin types and concerns. So, whether you’re looking for a good face cleanser or a moisturiser for men, this is one brand to check out.

To differentiate Lumin from other men’s skincare brands, founders Richard Hong and Darwish Gani flew to South Korea to work on formulas that benefit the thicker and more stubborn skin constructs of men. Most of the ingredients used are powerful plant-based extracts like ginger root, rosemary, coffee and shea butter. The paraben-free and cruelty-free brand also makes a point of avoiding unnecessary nasties commonly associated with popular off-the-shelf products.

If it’s your first time shopping for men’s skincare, you’ll be glad to know that the Lumin experience is simple and fuss-free. Just fill out a brief questionnaire and you’ll get a personalised skincare regime that’s suited to your skin type and lifestyle. You can choose to go with a one-time purchase or have your products delivered on a subscription basis. Alternatively, shop from the curated range of skincare sets catered to different budgets and preferences.

If hot chocolate is too mainstream for you, could we offer up this red velvet alternative? @littlefarms have a wide selection of oat milks, almond milks and soy milk options.

Since it's #Veganuary, we recommend using dairy free milks to recreate this recipe....

2 cups non-dairy milk of choice
4 medjool dates (pitted)
1 tablespoon cacao powder
1/2 teaspoon beet powder

Add the milk and dates into a saucepan.
Heat, over medium, until it reaches a simmer. Add the warm milk with the dates and the remaining ingredients into a high speed blender.
Blend until completely smooth and creamy. Serve and enjoy!
